Friends on NTL had seen similar and the problem had been 'cured' be an NTL engineer fitting a higher value attenuator between the line...

I have only 1Mb, but was told by my ISP that 2Mb was not available in my area, although close to London. Presumably this is a problem at the local exchange. Is there any map which shows the coverage of broadband speeds. Can anything be done to lobby a change of speed?
