NTL cable dropouts .. by T i m
Hi All, I'm not sure if this has been covered so in case it helps anyone ...(sorry if it has) I have neen noticing of late my normally solid NTL cable BB connection has been dropping out for a few seconds every now and again (not notivced and real pattern yet). Friends on NTL had seen similar and the problem had been 'cured' be an NTL engineer fitting a higher value attenuator between the line...

He uses his mobile phone a lot and the bluetooth hands-free device I've bought him (motorola H700) is causing him more frustration than freedom.

Linksys WAG354G no internet connection by ColinK
Hi My daughter is connected via wireless to this router. She does not have access to the actual router (in a locked room). Although she has internet access or a few days she now cannot connect to the internet. She has admin access to the router. I have got her to do a 'repair' wirless connection on her computer and a hard reset on the router (via

MultiNAT firewalling by Linker3000
Hi Guys, One of our sites has BT Business Internet with MultiNAT - ie: 5 public IP Addresses. I am trying to setup some improved firewalling on a Draytek 2600 but the problem I have is that outbound packets are seen as coming from an arbitrary gateway address at BT rather than one of our 5 IP addresses and while I have tried various combinations of DMZ and NAT Pooling I cannot seem to get...

Broadband distribution using Powerline (domestic wiring) by Bypass
I'd be interested in any comments from people that have first hand experience of networking their PC's using the domestic wiring. Recommend 'Switch' to expand Netgear DG834PN by gautam_shah@yahoo.com
Hi - I've recently purchased a Netgear DG834PN. However, I have used up all the available LAN ports! I've done some research and discovered that I could add a separate 'switch' to this setup, thus increasing the number of LAN Ports. Can anyone suggest a good 'switch' to use with this router? Also, does anyone foresee a problem with using a 'netgear switch' where both devices would have...

Email & webhosting suggestions please? by Peter Crosland
A friend is looking for low cost but reliable email and webhosting deal. The website is quite small but email reliability and effective spam/virus filtering is important. He is leaning towards Easyspace. Suggestions for ISPS or comments on them would be welcome. Peter Crosland

Broadband (low) speed by johannes
I have only 1Mb, but was told by my ISP that 2Mb was not available in my area, although close to London. Presumably this is a problem at the local exchange. Is there any map which shows the coverage of broadband speeds. Can anything be done to lobby a change of speed?

Telewest support (pause for laughter) by Paul D.Smith
If anyone figures out a way to talk to UK based Telewest support staff who understand anything about e-mail and why Telewest's e-mail servers don't deliver e-mail, please let me know. I've been trying to help a friend solve their problems (no e-mails reach them) for 2 weeks now. I've been writing e-mail software for over 15 years and I can categorically state the problem is not her PC but...
