Hi
I have a Sky Netgear router DG834gt which keeps disconnecting and I have to re-boot the router everytime I turn the machine on... it then works perfectly until I switch off.
The firmware is version V1.02.28 ~ is there an upgrade... I have tried the 3 upgrades shown on the Netgear support page but when I try to instal them they say its not valid.
(I previously had a netgear router and used...

I know that with a domain controller one can do this, but this is a
workgroup network.
There are some 3rd party add-on which can do this, but I wonder if
there is a way to do it within windoze.

| | Talk-Talk Broadband - what modem do you get? by
Maneate
Been asked by a friend about Talk-Talk BB and the modem that gets supplied.
Looked at their site but cannot find straight answers to the questions. Does
anyone here know the answers to the bits below?
1- If you do not buy the 'optional' modem pack at £29.99, do you still get
filters sent or do you have to buy separately?
2- What make/model is the modem they refer to? Is it really special or...

| | Wireless Routers and BT Broadband? by

using a BT Vogeger 220V Wired router. I want to replace that with a
wireless router that i can pick up from most high street shops.
Thanks,

Yesterday saw another Openreach begging letter sent by it's CEO 'Steve

describing Openreach as an organisation that looked after the 'Last Mile of

I just noticed Tiscali prices dropped again, so it is time to do your
"upgrade" to save your few quid a month!
Since Tiscali don't auto change your price, or email their customers, I
thought I would remind you!

| | ntl static ip address? by
simonclark123@hotmail.com
Does anybody know whether NTL offer a static ip address, if requested?
I don't mind paying extra for it, but NTL tell me that they cannot do
this for me 'for technical reasons'.
(I have the 10meg consumer package).
Many thanks for any help.

Firstly, apologies if this one's a FAQ. Unfortunately I can't access the
group's FAQ to avoid shooting myself in the foot :-(
Anyway. For (goodish) reasons I won't bore you with, I've currently got
both BT and cable broadband connections. BT goes via a D-Link DSL-G604T
wireless router (with 4 Ethernet ports) , Telewest via their own cable
modem (Motorola SB5100), which has one Ethernet and...

I just got a phone call from a non computer literate friend who has had the

of 1MB when they connect. The friend was warned not to do so but the lure
