| | Fasthosts and UKreg - Down again? by
wheelspin
Can it be possible? All my domains redirecting through UKreg are
unavailable, UKreg itself is unavailable, the Fasthosts control panel
is unavailable and the Fasthosts support site is unavailable - and yes
that is the one sporting the proud boast of the Fasthost Award Winning
support service. An answering machine message explains that there is 'a
problem' with the UKreg customer database and...

| | switching from UkOnline to Sky BB by
dave @ stejonda
I've been using UkOnline's 8Mb LLU service for around 15 months and its
been fine.
I'm also a Sky satellite subscriber and therefore eligible for Sky's
cheaper BB service which is UkOnline's offering rebadged, (Sky having
bought EasyNet).
I received my code from Sky allowing me to request BB from them but,
ringing them, was told that I have to disconnect from UkOnline before
they can then...

| | BT Home Hub Configuration by
rikerorama@googlemail.com
I have recently had to change provider due to relocation so thought I
would give my first impressions. Was previously with a cable provider
since the beginning of BB and just moved into a non cable area. I am
not served by a LLU exchange so I went with BT Total BB option 3 with
the "free" wireless VOIP router. Pleasantly surprised with ADSL
performance.
Out of the box the supplied router uses...

| | How setup two routers together? by
tskogstrom
Hi,
I have a broadband 8000 Wireless & LAN combination router Netgear
DG834PN (use as DHCP, IP 192.168.0.1) and have now also bougth a US
Robotics Wireless MAXg 5461A (Standard IP 192.168.2.1), to use it as

| | Onetel and Talk Talk what's the connection by
Norman Sandland
I am presently a longtime onetel dial up user and lam ooking to move to
broadband. I don't want to have to change my email address. I note that
there seems to be some sort of relationship between onetel and talktalk. I
also use call18866 for phone calls. Can anyone advise on what
onetel/talktalk are like as a supplier of broadband, what their deals are
and can you still use call18866 for...

| | problem connecting Mac to internet via wireless router by
davek
So, broadband has finally arrived in my part of the world, and I'm now
online... partly.
I have a desktop PC, a notebook PC and my wife has a notebook Mac. The
internet connection is via a BT Voyager 1200 wireless ADSL modem/router,
with wireless adapters in the PC and a built-in Airport card in the Mac.
We've got the two PCs online but can't get the Mac to connect.
The Mac can connect to...

| | Connecting iMac to wireless netgear WGT624 by
t.d.russell2@googlemail.com
Hi, I've recently purchased an Apple iMac and upgraded to broadband
from dial-up at the same time. The modem supplied by the internet
provider works fine, I am connected to it at the moment while I post
this. So the ADSL line works fine. However when I plug the ethernet
cable into the router I can't see it from my iMac, presumeably because
it's not set up yet? But even hard-wiring the router to...

Norman Sandland
How would the experienced broadband users rate the following broadband
suppliers for a lowish volume user who is past the first flush of youth and
wants to avoid set-up and operational hassle? The candidates I am presently

1.Eclipse Evolution broadband options 1 or 2 @ 3 months at £9.99 and then
£14.99 per month free set up.
2.Freedom2surf Cascade Lite.@ £14.99 per month...

| | Beware of ISP 'spam' filtering by
Joe Soap
I recently changed ISP, and shortly thereafter I began to get complaints
that emails sent to me were being bounced.
The reason for this turned out to be that the ISP was using a crude
rejection system, so that any sender IP found on anti-spam blacklists were
simply rejected with no notification to the intended recipient.
My email setup works by having a single destination of my own domain,...

Jono
Hello,
I wondered if anyone has any thoughts on TPON lines?
How to get them converted to copper would be a good place to start.
I've got no further than finding the latest info on Samknows (dated
2004)

| | Best Broadband provider? by
Partac
I know this subject has probably been done to death many times before, but
with the goalposts changing almost daily, can anyone recommend a good
uncapped service?
Cost of service is not the most important factor (although still fairly
important!), however reliability of service is along with technical support,
etc. I don't want to get involved with any of these herberts who have crappy...
