Linksys router settings by Frazer Jolly Goodfellow
There are a couple of settings options in Linksys ADSL routers that I don't understand: Connect on demand max idle time xx minutes Keep Alive Redial Period xx seconds What do these mean in practical terms? Are the options and settings ISP-specific or UK ADSL-specific? Which option is better, and how do you choose the corresponding xx value?

Intermittent internet connection problem by Victor Delta
For the last twelve months I have had a problem free 2M broadband service via ISP Fast 4 and a Belkin F5D7633-4uk wireless router. However, last week, after all the rain, our phone line went down (incoming ring trip, often associated with dampness somewhere). After many hours and several return visits, a BT engineer finally got the line working again BUT I am now having broadband...

Dr Speedtouch reports problem with internet by Pete
Can anyone tell me why the Dr Speedtouch program reports "problem with the internet" when I run diagnostics? There are no problems I can see - on a Pipex 1Mb broadband connection, reasonable speeds and no disconnections. Dr Speedtouch is listed as an exception my windows firewall settings, and I don't use a proxy. It's just irritating not knowing what's going on....

Belkin Router Firmware - Help by Andy Hewitt
Hi All, I'm after some advice as I think I've done something quite stupid! I had a Belkin F5D7630-4A modem/wireless router that was working ok until I tried to be a bit clever and put the SMC 7804wbra firmware on it. The firmware has installed ok but there are a couple of problems: Firstly, the wireless function on the router now absolutely refuses to work. I've been through all the...

I got an email from BE saying that my modem would arrive next week, then a bunch of emails from BE saying that there might be some connectivity issues on the day my modem arrives. I guess this is so that they can finally turn the pipex connection off and move it to BE. did anyone else have a similar scenario? Secondly, how do I make the switch? I have an ADSL modem which feeds into a...
