Are ADSL accounts with the same ISP specific to a particular telephone line or can anyone on that ISP use anyone elses telephone line who are already registered with the same ISP? I want to set up my father-in-laws router at my house and then send it to him so he can plug-and-play with no further setup needed. We are both with the same ISP. Er, think I got my what I was trying to say across.

working fine today until quarter to three then the 2 lights went out on router sync and ADSL rang them up and there saying it something to do with exchange and another thing when we signed up they said we get 4 emails account on the 1000 package and it turns out they don't there not impressed

is it true that TalkTalk will 'share' the 8mb connection with others?? I spoke to AOL to get a MAC code, and they told me if 8 people were using Talktalk @ once (from my area / exchange) everyone would get a 1mb connection. If 16 people were online, it will drop to 512 and so on. Is this true?

Been using perfmon.msc to monitor speed all day. sync 8128/speed 8000 Min 262K Ave 652K Max 792K maxed out the connection with a few ftp sessions from varies places. Overall it fluctuates a lot, one minute your getting 760k and the next 500k.

I've only ever meen able to get 1Mb tops for some reason - whether it be line noise or distance or both. When PlusNet roll out the Max version to me will I be able to get any faster?
