Linksys WAG345G & DHCP by mark
I got a Linksys WAG345G to replace my netgear router/modem. It seems to work fine except I cannot figure out how to assign IP address for each client on the DHCP server? My netgear router allowed me an reserve IP address for a device on the network so I always know for example that my laptop is at 192.168.0.12. Is this not possible with the Linksys unit? everytime my router reboots...

Which Router for BT? by Bobbinboy
I thought I had some PC knowledge until it came to setting up a BT 205 router for the two PC's in my house. The thing is such a pain to setup and it runs sooo hot that i have decided to ask you guys what's the best alternative. I want to be able to link the two PC's in the house using a cable router so that both can be used for online gaming. Also if I get a router can I play one PC against...

BBC Multicast Trial by DAB sounds worse than FM
If anybody's been watching or listening to the BBC's and ITV's multicast streams: http://support.bbc.co.uk/multicast/streams.html could they comment on what the picture quality and audio quality of the TV channels and radio stations is like please? If possible, could you say which audio or video format you're referring to.

Dear All, Below £10 per month ADSL services I am interested in the current providers of discount or very cheap ADSL services. Wireless router Disconnecting by Paul
Hi all Looking for some pointers with a problem I have started getting with my Belkin Wireless ADSL Modem Router. My setup has performed faultlessly for about 12 months then suddenly I noticed the every morning when I turn my PC on the Router had lost its connection over night, the only way to restore connection is to disconnect the router from the mains for a couple of minutes.

router with one wireless port - what does this mean? by Stephen
I am gettng closer to going to broadband. Among the specs of BT's offer or a wireless router it says that it has one wireless port? Does this mean that only one computer can be online at a time? One of the things I want from broadband is to enable my stepdaughter and I to go online with our computers and to enable each of us to be on at the same time if needs be. TY

DSL MAX by WS19UK
DSL MAX was enabled on my line this morning and I'm seeing between 5.5MB and 6.5MB depending on the type of modem I use a Zyxel has been the most succesfull followed by a speed touch and a vigor. The intriguing thing is that the max download speed is 1440 kbps which is pretty hopeless. Anyone have any ideas why this might be?

ADSL MAX and very varying Noise Margin by Chris
I am about 4.7 km from the exchange. I get a solid 1 Meg with Pipex Solo 1000, which is uncapped and gives webspace and newsgroups. Router is Netgear DG834v2 with latest firmware. Attenuation is 49. Noise Margin varies wildly between 9 and 20. Would a different router give better figures? Is it worth changing to MAX?

I was just thinking how wonderful life was, when Gaz. opened his gob and said: as it appears that most people would rate Speed (& Reliabilty) over price up to a certain level anyway! That's me to a 't'. -- Cheers,

BT have told a friend he can't have ADSL by Chris
BT have told a friend he can't have ADSL. He lives fairly near me - and I get a solid 1 Meg. What can he do? The BT Wholesale Availability Checker for his line says this: "Our test indicates that your line should be able to support a potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 500Kbps or greater.

thomson speedtouch 580 + AOL gold setup by Alex Hunsley
I've just helped someone set up a Thomson Speedtouch 580 wireless ADSL router on their existing AOL gold ADSL connection. (They had a USB modem before.) We got regular internet access working on the service, but then they logged into AOL over dial up (long story) and changed their AOL password, and now ADSL isn't working - the speedtouch router can't get connected now. Am I right in assuming that...
