| | Any genuine un-capped ISP's out their by
Clive
I moved from Telewest to Plusnet about 8 months ago.
Not had any major issues, apart from I got suckered into the up to 4mb for
£39.99! Soon got downgraded.
I did opt for the premier un-capped, download as much as you like....
Now I am never anywhere near my limits, don't do P2P - my average monthly
usage is 2gb. What does iss me off is the fact that they managed to change
all their...

| | Belkin router and wanadoo connection hell by
progger
Hi
I am trying to help out a friend and install a belkin f5d7632-4
wireless router with a wanadoo broadband connection. I have installed a
few different types of wireless routers but never had a problem like
this!
Using a hardwired ethernet connection I have accessed the routers GUI
and have run belkins wizard. The wizard asks me what kind of connection
(PPPoA) and static IP or obtain one...

| | Eclipse : 8Meg upgrade? by
Joe Chip
Just heard from Eclipse via email that existing subscribers are to be
offered the 8Meg service but on new terms; 40Gb/month usage.
So I guess I'll be staying on 2Meg unlimited until I find a new
service provider.
Any suggestions?

| | Plusnet Cease Binary Groups by

Looks like my isp have abandoned their binary download facility.
Anyone got any suggestions where to go next please? I was paying 21.99
for 2 Meg which is shortly to become 8 Meg. Why would anyone want 8
Meg if the binary d/loads are kaput?

"Binary Usenet is used by a small minority of mainly technically savvy
customers to download large files. Because very few customers have

| | Can Anyone Explain This, Please? by
Deddajay
I've just set up a friend's new broadband using a Netgear router. It
took a while to sync, and when it did the connection only lasted a
couple of minutes. Every time a web page is called or email collected
the line drops again and it seems to only stay up for a minute or two at
a time.
I checked the stats and these are the figures from the router:

BT Broadband Option 1
Voyager 210 connected via USB
Is it necessary to install the BT log on/connection software or are the
router drivers enough? I've got a friend's PC here, which became unstable
when all the BT/Yahoo crap was installed from the setup CD. Internet
Explorer and the router management software wouldn't load and the BT
connection software would freeze immediately upon loading....

| | BTBroadband - ftp problem by
Jamie Jay
Hi
I currently have BT Broadband and have been with the service for a while now.
I produce a radio show which is uploaded to a server via ftp, the file size is about 110mb.
It has uploaded with no problems since I have started doing this (every week for 5 months) and this week I am encountering a problem. When I try to upload it gets to about 65mb and then it just fails.
To try and fix this...

| | Plusnet PAYG upgrades by
jelv
I suppose after many months where FUP's, SUP's changed allowances etc
upsetting Premier and BB+ users the time would come when they would
decide it was time to upset the PAYG users - well that time has arrived!
Firstly we have the fiasco over the free overnight usage. A newsletter
was sent to all users saying that from the first billing date after 30th
March midnight to 8am would be free....

| | Migrate from Bulldog to Be Unlimited? by
Fred Finisterre
Is a possible to migrate directly from one to the other? The Be site has a
BT line as a requirement, whereas obviously I have a Bulldog line.
I've had enough of Bulldog's ineptitude. Or are Be just as bad?
Cheers,
Fred.

Is there a list of db losses and speeds possible with those losses ?
Would be very handy to have that sort of info...
eg: a certain loss "could" support a certain speed... ?
