| | Bonded Broadband Hardware by
Paul Edwards
Hi
We are setting up a new satelite office in an area which only has 512K
broadband available and we also need a fast upload speed to our main office.
After looking at various options we thought we would go for bonded broadband
as we also want to use IP phones. We would want to bond 4 adsl lines.
So the question is what hardware do we need to achieve the bonded solution
and how easy is it...

| | Virgin.net and bad IP address ranges by
Jonathan Eales
I've just tried to connect a new customer of mine to Virgin.net broadband.
The modem installed fine, I got a good DSL sync and logged on but couldn't
get any application to work. I tried all the usual suspects even installing
the modem onto my laptop and in desperation called Virgin broadband
technical support. They stated that the the following IP address ranges
were 'bad' 82.25, 82.26...

| | Virgin ADSL by
Ken Lyndon
Hi everybody...
Is anyone out there having problems with Virgin broadband?
I have a Netgear DG834G which has been running fine for two years, then
stopped connecting to the internet, after many and various calls to
Virgin it magically reconnected, without their help, now its
disappeared again.
The ADSL light shines a wonderful shade of green, and virgin claim they
can see my modem, but still no...

| | Anyone familiar with the Efficient Networks 5681 router? - query on DNS relay by
Trust No One®
Hi Folks,
Have been on Zen Internet for almost 4 years now with no problems. I
recently received a security email from their abuse department to the effect
that they had identified a _potential_ security exploit in that my internet
connection was acting as an open recursive DNS server; The email went on to
say that this could be used to launch a denial of service attack as the DNS
server...

| | Plusnet site and POP down? by
tx2
I can't collect POP3 nor load their portal site this afternoon. The
rest of the www and email is working OK. Am I to assume Plusnet are
"experiencing tecnhical difficulties"?
Please don't let these manifest into a network wide outage just as the
weekend approaches!

| | Tiscali spamming email accounts by
Jim
It seems Tiscali have a problem, I and others on Tiscali I know have started
getting spam email on a regular basis. Up until now they seem to have been
great at keeping spam email away, but just recently (over the past couple of
months) spam appears to be a problem.

| | D-link DSL G624M firewall simply doesn't work by
HexSoap
Hi All,
Am I the only one to have this kind of issue, I can't believe its
possible ???
Whatever rules I put on My D-link MIMO router I always end up with a
wide open WIRELESS LAN towards the internet. I tried adding specific
DENY rules to the standard last DENY rule but whatever I do an external
scan will always reveal a mix of all my "internal" machines OPEN ports.

| | Plusnet newsgroups - slow tonight or what? by
m
I am sure it's not just me (tried on 2 PCs) but Plusnet newsserver seems
pants tonight.
I haven't bothered to try and ring them as it isn't that important at
the moment.
Has anyone called them?
I remember some time ago about them changing newsserver address. Should
I still be on news.plus.net?

Hi,
recently (past three days) my bittorrent client has been maxing at 30k when
it usually uses all of my 1mb download speed. Torrents are well seeded
(purely legal stuff though guv!). Nothing has been changed regarding
settings in Azureus, settings on the router or hardware. Doesn't matter if
it is one torrent or a number of torrents, the 30k is shared between them. I
have smiley faces all...
