I am one of the technical support agents. I dont know who you lot have
spoken with in the past but there aint no scripts to follow. Most of the
staff have alot of technical knowledge (myself I have a BSc in Computing).
with regards to getting the SB3100 swapped if you call up and tell them they
have to swap because its an issue when have know about since the speed
upgrades. If you do get...

Hi all,
Does anyone hear know anything about the diabolical fiasco we are
having at f2s?.
Customers have been affected with very bad speeds, The speed has picked up a
little for the ADSL customers but for the customers on LLU speeds are still
very bad, By bad i mean very bad sometimes so slow that 56k modems would
thrash the speed obtained (this is not a joke i am serious).
It started...

| | 2mb - 1mb Migration? by
Bryan Anderson
Some advice needed: I am on PlusNet 2MB at the moment but have just
had the "Level 1" email and binary usenet has gone kapput and I expect
my ftp server has slowed right down too. So - am looking for a new ISP
that has no traffic shaping or down/upload limits, under £30 per month
and ideally with a one month minimum.
I used to be with Zen and would love to go back, but they cost too
much, unless...

| | What exactly counts towards monthly usage allowance? by
rob
Does anyone know for sure how ISPs typically total up their customers
monthly usage? I am trying to find out whether things like TCP and IP
headers are included in the totals, and perhaps other overheads (data
sent over an Ethernet network gets yet another set of headers, for
example). How about things like ICMP packets (pings) and
retransmission of bad data - does it all count? It would...

I've got Bulldog Broadband and use an Apple Airport to connect my OS
10.4.4 iMac to a D-Link DSL-502T ADSL router for wireless broadband.
After a lot of teething troubles it now works ticketty-boo.
But I want to wirelessly connect a Windows XP PC to the network too.
The PC wireless modem recognises the Airport, says it's connected...
but we can't get any data of any kind down the line. It keeps...

| | How to disable NAT on wireless router? by

I've got two of these here wireless routers:

.
How do I turn off NAT? Basically I've got one upstars with the internet
connection, and one downstairs with a phone and a computer. I was hoping to
use them to bridge the two LANs so I don't have to run 50ft of CAT5.

Voip Learning and Translating Tutorial
Voice Over IP is a new communication means that let you telephone with
Internet at almost null cost.
How this is possible, what systems are used, what is the standard, all
that is covered by this Howto.

| | Wireless 802.11a standard by
Alan
Is the 802.11A wireless standard legal in this country? I have been looking
for adsl routers which can run on this standard with no success so far as
they all seem to be B or G. The reason I am asking is that I have had
difficulties with G standard routers suffering from interference from other
wireless sources in the same band.

| | Conexant AccessRunner ADSL doesn't always synch with exchange after hibernate by
Steven
Hi,
I have had the Conexant AccessRunner ADSL ever since I went on ADSL a
few years ago. I am very satisfied with it, but I have one problem with
it (more likely the drivers?).
I put my PC into hibernation at night rather than completely shutting
down, for 2 reasons:
1. It's quicker to boot up after powering up again.

Hi Folks,
A week or so ago I started out on a "cost cutting exercise" and one of
the things I'm tasked with is to sort out my telephone and mobile
costs.
I have 2 lines coming into my house - one for business and one for
personal. ADSL is on the business line - to which I still pay for (as
it's my own business) - I don't need the line as it's seldom used for
any calls, and is just used for...
