| | Questions to Plusnet - expelling critical customers by
John
Yesterday Plusnet expelled two customers; one for repeatedly asking
the same question on its forums:

The individual concerned (no connection to me) wanted to know why
Plusnet have refused to email their existing customers about the
launch of a cheaper package that could save them up to £216 pa for an
identical service. I'm going to...

| | Stable wireless ADSL hardware? by
Paul Hutchings
Having seen the other thread that concentrates on wired routers, I
wondered if I could have some suggestions on wireless ADSL routers (with
inbuilt modem).
I think I've been convinced to bite the bullet and maybe pay a little
more for something that is good quality, but at the same time the
Drayteks seem a little pricey for a home user who doesn't want features,
but does want something that...

| | plusnet recommendations? by
Beck
I am thinking of finally breaking free from BTYahoo and going for the
PlusNet £14.99 service. I don't have any problem whatsoever with the
BTYahoo service, it has been excellent for me, so this is purely a switch
for financial reasons. By switching I could make a saving of £144 a year.
So what are PlusNet like at the moment? Any significant problems I should
be aware of?

| | SDSL router recommendations by
Fred Smith
Currently have a site with a Draytek 2600 router which is connected to
ADSL and has a number of remote routers/users connect to it. The plan
is to add an SDSL circuit to the central site - Draytek don't offer an
SDSL product.
Can anyone suggest a router which would offer the same sort of
facilities of the Draytek - but on SDSL?
Thanks in advance.

In the search for a decent and cheap ADSL ISP, here is the story:
I currently have a BT phone line with Option 1 phone service, linksys
adsl wireless gateway and usb wireless interface so i don't need a free
modem and setup offered by most adsl isps I have seen. I would prefer
to have unlimited downloads but say, 10GB a month might be ok. The
main issue is that I will be moving from my current...

| | New router by
Derek Baker
I'm big enough to admit when I'm wrong. Two years ago people here advised me
to buy a Vigor 2600, and instead I went for the SpeedTouch 530 my ISP was
offering: http://tinyurl.com/dyxj9
Now my second one has just failed! Writing this via the cheapest modem I
could find in town today.
What is currently recommended? Single computer, ADSL, wired.
Thanks

| | alternatives sought to freeparking by
Deano
I know I posted either here or to plusnet.service.customer-feedback a while
ago but I can't find the archived messages in google for some reason.
The question was - what other alternatives are there to Freeparking.co.uk?
I need a company that does what they do but I'm fed up with the variable
service (forwarding is erratic) and one that has a more professional looking
website - I can't believe...

According to an e-mail received this morning, Plusnet have updated
their T&Cs with, amongst other things, the following two additions:
(1) "Introduction of 'idle time-outs' for Broadband Plus and ADSL Home
Surf customers. This means that we will disconnect any sessions that
are inactive for a period of thirty minutes. As long as your
connection is in active use, you will not be disconnected. If...

I am currently on PlusNet Broadband Home Lite 2Mb 20:1 variant with
included 3GB bandwidth £26.99 (monthly) and because of the changes
lately with their offers, i.e. offering me 20:1 for an extra £10, (which
I accepted), and now future cut-offs if inactive for 30mins, I am not
sure if i am getting a good deal. I am not as "clued-in" to the best

| | plusnet router offer - any good? by
dwkenning@btopenworld.com
Hi, I've just moved house, looking to set up a new broadband account
and am tempted by the mostly favourable opinion of PlusNet. No way am I
going back to BT Openworld.
I'm also interested in the PlusNet wireless router offer - the one that
includes 1 wireless router, 1 pci wireless card for a desktop pc and 1
wireless card for a laptop. Only thing is, I can't see anything on the
PlusNet website...

| | Anyone using a 3Com 3CRWE754G at 1M or above? by
Tiscali Tim
My OfficeConnect wireless ADSL modem/router/firewall worked quite happily at
512k for over a year, but started playing up just before my connection
(PlusNet) was upgraded to 1M (possibly BT were fiddling with the line a few
days before the actual upgrade).
Since the upgrade, it works for half an hour or so when first turned on from
cold - but then takes a serious dip in downstream noise margin,...
