| | Recommendations for best deal? by
Adam Lipscombe
Folks
A mate of mine has finally decided to ditch dial up and move into the 21st century.
As you may deduce he is not a geek and probably wont download masses of films etc. Once he gets into it you never know
though.
Any recommendations on the best deal out there currently for this type of user?
He is doesn't have cable potential.
I think that a reliable connection and good support when he...

I'm part of a round letter group, sending & receiving 'jokes' of a topical,
or non topical as the case maybe. Up to this weekend I've had no problems
forwarding on mails with 20 plus recepients (spelling? still got to install
spell chucker) now over this weekend I'm finding I'm being restricted to 10.
As you can see I'm using OE6 & as far as I can tell I've not changed any
parameters. The...

There is just this one internet resource that I seem not to be able to
contact: adobe.com. It always times out, at any time of the day or

Cork Soaker
So I reckon some Winturd might be giggling away...
For no useful reason I have just tried to connect to an Ubuntu 8.04
server running bozohttpd via Opera Mini on my mobile.
The first page loads fine, but when clicking on any link on the page I
am redirected to the Windows Vista homepage.
Amusing, but not useful to anyone with a brain.

| | Query on BT Broadband by
Starman2112
My BT Broadband is up for renewal in three months and BT have written and
said they will reduce the monthly rental to 'only' £22.99 is I resign for a
further 18 months.
I don't want to do this, due to the **** broadband speed I've had over the
last eight months or so.
For me, speed and availability are _more_critical_ than saving a tenner
(callout, working from home etc).

| | Leaving virgin.net - will I loose e-mail address? by
gustavfenk@googlemail.com
I've used virgin.net as my ISP for 8+ years now - initially on dial-
up
and now on ADSL broadband. I was planning on changing broadband
supplier, maybe to o2, but I cannot afford to loose my virgin.net e-
mail address. If I ask Virgin for my MAC and move to another ISP will
they cancel my e-mail account?
If the answer to this question is "yes, they do cancel your e-mall
account" then would the...

| | O2 Broadband - speed tests intermittent - early activation by
Darren
Hello
Ordered O2 8MB broadband on Sunday. Got a text to say activation will
be Friday.
Router arrived Wednesday so I decided to plug it all in because all
previous ADSL orders with other networks have always activated early.
Internet and DSL lights came on and its up and running 2 days early.

FlyerUK
I asked this question in an email to BE, but didn't geet it answered. so
I'll ask here, as I should have done in the 1st place ;-)
I know I need a BT line to get the BE service, but does the BT line stay
with BT, or is it transferred to BE, as it was with Bulldog the ast time I
went LLU?
All BE told me was I needed a BT line to get the service, but I already knew
that ;-)
