Thank you BT Broadband by Reg Edwards
It's rather rare for me to pass compliments. But the following is deserved. For several years I have been accustomed to receiving 300 or more spam items each day. The usual rubbish including masses of porn. I use Windows-98, Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. I have no anti-spam software. I have the free AVG anti-virus program. A few months back I changed to BT Broadband, the £24 per...

Zen internet - good or bad? by narcissu
I am a heavy user, and make no apologies - no point having a 'contended' service we pay for and then not allowed to use the b/w that's there. So, are Zen great, good, or bad. I am interested in their 1Mb unlimited service, maybe 2 but even a heavy user does not need 2Mb - and I grab a lot a day. So, is Zen reliable, the sevrice normally working and fast fixes, I

Pipex: I've been upgraded..... by Keith Brown
Until this morning, I was on Solo 150. I have logged on this evening, and I am now on Solo 250....woo-hoo! Anyone else been upgraded yet? Looking at my further upgrade options, they seem to have done away with Solo 500, or at least it wasn't in the grid as an option.....is this correct?

I would just like to point out that I am in no way associated with http://www.muxton.com. It advertises Plusnet on its site, which is something I would never do. Jake

Set-up Woes by Paul
I'll apologise right up front for this, it's probably a really stupid question, but... First, here's the situation: 1) I've signed up for broadband with Zetnet, and this rural area has only recently got it. I had a visit from a BT engineer last week, it was supposed to be switched on yesterday (Wednesday) or earlier. 2) Zetnet tell me that the switch on has been delayed, but can't tell

What speed should I expect by Roger
Hi I have recently installed 1mb ADSL from Metronet, I frequently check my speed at ADSLGuide and the Liberty Broadband Windsor Hall Speed Tester, and am disappointed to find I am getting readings mainly around 500K bits per sec, often falling much lower and occasionally rising to 750 or 800K, only once has it been as high as 1000K. Ping rates to UK addresses are between 32 and 39ms and to...

We are being broadband activated tomorrow. (Friday). We have been sent by my Wife's company a D-Link DSL 502T Router. (The company are supplying and paying for, the broadband connection!) I already have a LAN which I set up myself between my laptop and my Desktop via a Netgear 4 port hub. What will happen is that my Wife's laptop and the router will both connect into the remaining two ports...

More thoughts on caps and speeds. by David WE Roberts
Hi, Musing on how reasonable the caps are. I have just decided to build a new system using Linux Fedora Core 3. The DVD install image is just over 4Gbytes. This will blow away the 'low user' caps immediately.
