Range extending a Belkin F5D7630 ADSL modem/router/WAP by David Plowman
Has anyone else had trouble trying to extend the range of a Belkin F5D7630 ADSL modem/router/wireless AP? I naively thought (reading all the advertising blurb) that a Belkin F5D7130 wireless AP/range extender was just what I needed. But no. A 7130 will range extend a 7230 (cable modem/router/WAP I think?), or another 7130, and for all I know most other Belkin products, but *not* a 7630. Any...

ATTN: PLUSNET STAFF by Dave
Please search this group for a post titled... ATTN:PLUSNET STAFF Any PlusNet guys not on the slow pipe? I would like a response, with regards to the above named post and as to where you stand on this type of use of your service. It is clear you invoke rules for heavy users, do you invoke the rules for these users also?? Many thanks

Best BB ISP... by Lo Salt
Just to let you know that the best ISP of the year should go to... NDO Broadband... I've used them for the last 4 months and had no problem with them what so ever! Far enough, I pay £27.99 p/m for the 512 service, but they don't cap their service at all. --

For the PN fanboys LOL by Dave
Well after slagging my about the bad PN reviews appearing at www.ISPreview.co.uk and stating they dont make a blind bit of difference, have a look here... http://www.broadband-help.com/service_review.asp?id=33&refpage=cm%5Freviews %2Easp Hmm looks like I was right and the views about their bad boy pipe scheme are gradually propagating to the various isp review/comparison sites, it may not be...

512k/bs upstream? by Dan Allen
Hi All, I wonder if anyone know of an ISP that has ADSL at 1M down 512 up, I looked at 512/512 SDSL, but my local switch has not be enabled for SDSL yet. 512 is more than plenty downstream, but I need greater upstream bandwidth. A 2meg leased line would be the best solution, but there is no way I

ATTN: CHEDDAR by Dave
I recently in here had a short debate about your 12KB/s speed issues with a customer support member of Plusnet. In case you have missed it, it basically went like this... {ME} Someone is telling fibs, and you are basically accusing a customer of yours which claims to be getting 12KB/s of fibbing, not exactly what i call a positive attitude to have towards a paying customer.

zonealarm question by Me again
Not strictly on topic, but it arises BECAUSE I've moved to Broadband and want to up security. I have a wireless network at home between two computers using a combined modem router. Both computers use Win XP Obviously the router has it's own firewall, but I want Zonealarm running as well. Is there a way of making Zonealarm start before the network connections are

onetel broadband - any comments? by Peter Hall
I am moving from BT Broadband and considering onetel's broadband offering. Bandwidth is no big issue for me, just reliability and support. Any opinions on them? I use their landline services and they're fine.

3COM router: maintaining a connection by F
I've just replaced a Netgear DG814 router with a 3COM 3CRWE754G72-A OfficeConnect ADSL Wireless 11g Firewall Router (fair trips of the tongue, doesn't it?). It appears that the 3COM regularly drops the ADSL connection as I find that the Online LED is off (although the Sync light remains on). This *appears* to be after I have turned the computer off, or when I have'nt accessed the router for...

A matter of Spam by Derrick Fawsitt
Please excuse me in advance for what is probably not exactly the subject of this Newsgroup but I have recently lost a lot of mail through having McAfee SpamKiller and MailWasher conflicting with each other. I have disabled McAfee and am trying to get MailWasher to work as well as it did before. The question is, I have paid for both and both seem to be capable of doing the job, but not...

After a week on PN's pipe of doom 33.12 GB by One2Go
For a week starting from the 29th of November I did 33.12 Gig on the Pipe of Doom. 21 of those were uploads and most of the download before 9 am on Monday. If I would have kept this up I would have been a heavy user and never gotten of the BBP. PN moved me for 345 Gig in 3 months and for those that questioned this it was 190 Gig downloads and 155 Gig uploads. My usage stats on the PN portal...

Plusnet: 1.2% (ab)using 28% of bandwidth by Plusnetsucks
Some more info from Josh Berry of Plusnet customer support - Quote: "The service sold is unlimited this means without limits and until they change this then it is very fair for people to use what they have been sold." That is true at the moment, so customers can use whatever they want but since the changes to the BT pricing structure (i.e. the introduction of capacity based charging) it...

"The growing popularity of online gaming could spell problems for net service firms, warns network monitoring company Sandvine." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4079397.stm Tut-Tut, ISP's should put all these on-line gaming bandwidth hoggers on a single pipe me thinks. KB

Talk Talk use restrictions by {{{{{Welcome}}}}}
Talk Talk broadband did look at first pretty good for the money. But it appears they have restrictions on the use of P2P, web servers and mail servers. Not sure if they block ports, and there is a work-around. Any body have any ideas?
