The Plusnet pipe of doom and the users (OH DEAR!) by Dave
Well it looks SO FAR that I was right with regards to the heavy users ending up being limited in speed terms, and contended take a look at... http://tinyurl.co.uk/o2kz The funniest quote IMO is about the "bedding in" process LMFAO sorry PN (and Ian) but first no GB figure was given to users to reduce their usage to and now that comment, WTF? While I freely admit you may be working on any issues...

BTYahoo Accounts Dept. by John Edgar
In October I migrated from BTYahoo to another supplier. I gave notice to BTYahoo quite correctly and met all their minimum contract requirements. All of this is written down in the form of emails from BTYahoo to me at the time. This still does not stop them sending me Direct Debit charges, at the end of October and again in November, for a year's service, as though I had broken their contract...

Filter Sqeaks by Gary D.
I have a broadband service through Virgin.net and have installed line splitters/filters. Sometimes, overnight (01:00-05:00) the filters beep as if somebody is trying to use the line, although the phone doesn't actually ring. This can repeat several times. Is this likely to be caused by something happening at the exchange, or what else may be causing this annoying feature?

Yes, another PlusNet thread! But this one isn't all bitchin' and moanin'. Not only is NDO's beta usenet server a PlusNet server, but all this tracerouting in the previous post got me inspired: START OF COPY N' PASTE Tracing route to google.com over a maximum of 30 hops:

Content filtering software / suggestions ? by Colin Wilson
I`ve been asked if I know of any decent content filtering software for a kids' PC - any suggestions ? Cost probably won't be an issue, but free is always nice :-p Personally, I think it'd be better in a public area so you could see what they're up to, but I don't think that's an option. -- Please add "" in the subject of any personal replies via email

Bluetooth car kits by Andy M Jenkins
Hey all, Finally looking at an upgrade from my aging Nokia 6310i (which is still a damn good phone, but I'm being lured by the likes of coloured screens and half decent ring tones). Presently I have a Nokia car kit fitted to my car (can't recall which one, but its fully installed, mutes the radio, charges the phone blah blah). Come January, I'll also be collecting my new car ( I wont bore...

Netgear DG834 query by David G
In anticipation of being able to receive broadband I have been looking for a suitable router and the Netgear seems to fit the bill, however reading the ADSLguide review of it, it seems that it does not support SNR reporting. Is there another router in this class that would have that feature. -- Regards

Just installed a Netgear DG834G wireless modem/router with CAT 5 only and everything appears to be working fine. However, I've noticed two (what I think are) rather odd behaviours on my PC. 1. With Zonealarm unlocked there is constant activity on both the red and green icon bars in my system tray. 2. When I engage the Zonealarm internet lock the upstream light on my
