Hi i just reconnected to Bluyonder cable 750kbits at £25 per month, no gb
cap, free install, free modem, 1 month free, 1 year contract.
I asked Telewest if o could pay the whole year in advance, rather than
monthly and i was told that thats no problem, however it will not be at £25
per month, but £27 per month as we (Telewest) levy a £2 surcharge if you
dont pay by our prefered method (monthly...

| | Home Highway to ADSL conversion by
Pete Turnbull
My exchange will finally be ADSL-enabled very shortly and I've signed up
for broadband with PlusNet. They will arrange for the HH to be
decommissioned and for the ADSL upgrade to be done at the same time.
However they're not going to place the order until at least the date of
the exhange activation. Is it true that it can't be ordered any earlier
than that? Having been the first person in my...

I found this great little site
I found this great little site. I signed up two weeks ago and got 2 Disney tickets and this week they are sending me 2 Universal Studios tickets. Here's the link http://66.219.102.40/ and by the way I am a real person, this is my real email address. I'm not a spammer and didn't appreciate the nasty email I got last time I tried to post this link.
Thanks,...

When migrating from one broadband supplier to another, is the switch over
fairly quick or is there likely to be a period in which you don't have
Internet access?
Thanks in advance.

I know Bulldog was at the forefront of LLU (local Loop Unbundling) so much
so that Cable & Wireless completely bought them as wholly owned subsidiary,
but are they any good? Does anyone reading this use Bulldog & have any
positive or negative comments re their service. I'm thinking of changing
from Pipex to save a few quid a month. So happy to stick with 512k
,uncapped,no -email,but want...

Futher to my recent posts here, I am trying to get my parents ADSL'd for

They live in a semi rural area (Workington, Cumbria BT Exchange) which is

I am trying to get an account with EFH Broadband but this is proving
difficult - no capacity - but they want to use data streaming not ISP
streaming. Now they charge quite high set up fees which I wiull be...

I recently signed up with an ISP and they were going to do a managed

change to POTS and removal of the highway box should all be done at the

| | ADSL Exchange Capacity Problem - Help??? by
DeeBee
Hi
Further to my post of a few days ago regarding a capacity issue that is
preventing my parents from getting ADSL.
We have ordered a 512 50:1 service through EFH Broadband. BT have said that
the order is on hold because they have now capacity at the exchange.
However checking with samknows and other tools there appears to be plenty of
capacity available.

| | Explanation of contention ratios please by
David G
I am a bit confused as to what contention ratios amount to. I know it is
mostly 50:1, but exactly what size of connection are these 50 sharing.
If you are a 512 connection then would there be 50 on this. I know that
most pipes are 155 but presumably this is just racked up on the former.

They gave a start date of 12 Nov but according to EFH, BT have put
the order on hold because there is not enough capacity at the
exchange. The order is on hold until BT sort out more capacity.
EFH says they have never been in this situation and are chasing BT.

I signed up to Pipex broadband because it was recommended to me, but I find
although most web pages download fairly rapidly, it is not the case in the

I am only trying to download text, and it takes ages, infact it was quicker
on the old BT dial up (much quicker) this is the server I am trying to
