My exchange was due to be activated (RFS date ) on Wednesday 17th Nov. My

given a live date of next Monday. When I pluged in my modem tonight it now
lights ( ADSL) steady green but I cannot connect to my ISP.
Does this mean the line and exchange are now set up and I am waiting for the

Allegedly, my line was activated yesterday.
I'm trying to set up a Draytek Vigor 2600Gi.
I've been using the 'Auto Detect ATM/DSL Setting' to see if the line is
ready. I haven't been able to connect.
Is there another easy way of checking that the line has actually been
activated? No point trying to set things up if the line isn't active
yet.

Not one but three leaflets for Bulldog's new 4Mbps service arrived
through the door with my Grauniad this morning in leafy North Bristol...
Funny thought I didn't know we'd got LLU in Thornbury yet.
But it didn't say anything about limited availability so I rang em up -
to find of course that not only had they no intention of unbundling our
little local exchange, but that they didn't intend to...

| | BT wholesale - higher speeds? by
Dan
With the cable companies upping their speeds again, and the new 8mbps
service (local loop unbundling) is there any hope of BTWhole increasing
there speeds (for free??) lol or releasing higher speed products for a bit
more dollar per month? Especially the upstream speed.
The highest speed available to both business and home is still 2mbps! How
depressing it that??
I'm looking foward to hearing...

did your line result from www.bt.com/broadband flag up a "line sharing
device" or other issue that may have complicated it ?
does http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/ say anything about
availability of port problems.

Dave
Hello, I'm looking at buying a Draytek router + modem and like the sound of
the Draytek 2600VG (VOIP+wireless), but don't know if better to get the
2600G (wireless only) and use a separate VOIP adapter
(diginum(sp),Handytone etc)........?

Hi,
I'm currently with Wanadoo Anytime and want to switch to a broadband
supplier (probably Virgin). I still wish to retain my Wanadoo email account
as a dial up (or through the Wanadoo home page), at least for a few months,
but don't want to pay Wanadoo anything. Has anyone done this ?
Regards,
Steve

Can anyone point me to a decent ADSL Router please?

Well my modified BT ADSL faceplate has finally arrived from clarity,
but I need help to wire it up. I'm ok at the faceplate end, Wires
2,3,4 & 5 are self explanitory. I intend to use the other two wires (1

| | ADSL connection dropping when phone is answered by
Martin J
Hi,
I've had this problem over the last week or so.
No hardware changes. Have swapped line filter to no avail.
I'm with Tiscali and up to this point have had no trouble.
The problem seems to be strangely intermittent.
The only change I can see is that the speed of Tiscali has mysteriously
changed from 576K to 2.2M bps.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Martin J.

| | Router with Wanadoo by
Steve O
Couldn't find it in the FAQ, tech support fairly non-committal.........
Can I use a router with a built in modem on any Wanadoo BB package? Or am I
tied to their crappy USB thing with ICS as the only option?
I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, but my mate already has an account
and wants me (this always happens) to sort it out.
Cheers
