| | Any experiences with Onetel? by
Andrew Hodgson
Hi all,
Was going to sign up a friend with Plusnet, but he doesn't want all
the extra benefits of Plusnet, and additionally likes the idea of
paying a slightly higher cost to get most calls included (i.e, the
Onetel packages). Just wondering what the quality of the service was
like, and also what sort of equipment do they give the customer?
Just wondring,
Andrew.

| | Telewest - need for digging up garden / use of existing kit by
Dave
I've decided to switch from BT and adsl to Telewest for my phone and
broadband.
I live in a two story flat on the top. When I called to sign up, I was
told that I had to have permission from my neighbor below.
She called them up, concerned that her front garden would have to be
dug up again, since Telewest had done this already. Telewest told her
yes. She refused permission.

| | D-Link modem/routers are they any good? by
du@hotmail.com
Does anyone have any particular experience with d-link adsl router
modems the two i have been looking at are DSL-G604T (wireless) and
DSL-504T (wired). I have been reading customer reviews on dabs.com and
some people seem to like them and others have had nothing but problems
such as the router freezing, loosing connections and high pitched
noises coming from them.

| | Help with Zyxel Prestige 645R on BTO by
Paul
Hi,
Has anybody else managed to setup the 645R with BTO? I used to use it
sucessfully in London with another provider (wires only) but can't get it to
work with BTO. Here I have a BT installed wall socket rather than wires
only - does anyone know if this makes a difference?
Below are the configs I have been trying without sucess...
Any help would be much appreciated.

| | NTL Offers to existing NTL users by
AMO
My folks are currently have an NTL landline.
I am thinking of getting them NTL broadband - mainly because I don't think
that the dialup connections are cost effective and are too slow in todays
use of the internet. I also don't want my folks to end up downloading a
dialler that calls 09 numbers - they're really quite dozy.
Other than the first 3 months half price line rental, is there any...

| | Can't VPN using Netgear DG834G by
Peter Harding
Hi,
I'm trying to connect to my business network from home using a Zen
ADSL line with a Netgear DG834G wireless router/firewall.
I've set up a VPN connection and can login OK with a user name and
password. Using ipconfig I can see that I've been allocated an IP
address within my business network but I can't pick up email or telnet
onto any servers.

| | Alcatel and a ATI graphics card?!?! by

Hi
I have an ancient ALCATEL PCI ADSL Modem. Its been working fine for the last
couple of years.
Today I installed an ATI RADEON 9600 PRO (Sapphire) onto my system, and its
messed up my internet.
After hours of fiddling around and numerous XP installs i have figured out
that if i install the ATI graphics card drivers it stops my modem from
making a connection to my ISP (Pipex) - if i uninstall...

Looking at this £85 offer which includes a wireless USB2 adaptor.

Draytek 2600 via a VPN? The latter is already set up for other remote

Paul Landregan
I know the attenuation is 5dB over, but there is sufficient SNR margin to
accommodate the 6-8dB drop when moving from 512 to 1MB.
