Linksys WAG54G with 1MB ADSL problem. by Captain Caralho
Hi, I'm trying to get a colleague's 1MB ADSL working with a Linksys WAG54G modem/router. The router works fine on at least 2 512K ADSL lines, but I don't even get the DSL light turning green on the 1MB line. Of course, the 1MB line works fine when used with the BT Voyager ADSL modem.. I've checked and rechecked that the router is set up correctly. I've used another identical router (supplied by...

Any 108Mbps wifi adsl modem/router/firewalls? by Fred Finisterre
I'm looking at a DG834G 54Mbps from Netgear. They seem to do 108Mbps PCMCIA caads, but not the modem/router/firewall. Are there any others around? Thanks, Fred.

Question for BT Yahoo users about newsgroups by Informer
I am presently on Pipex broadband but will be changing ISP to BT Yahoo due to a large company discount. Can any BT Yahoo customer please tell me if BT Yahoo list a newsgroup called free.uk.airports-luton. I am a contributor to this very small newsgroup and don't want to loose access to it. Thank you.

BT announces record quarter for broadband by Sunil Sood
BT today announced that the quarter ending September 30 2004 had been the best ever quarter for wholesale broadband connections. The company said that more than 600,000 connections were made in the quarter taking BT Wholesale's end user base to 3,294,000. The news came in the week that saw the UK overtake Germany in terms of broadband users per 100 people in the population. Commenting on...

VoIP - a few questions. by Cap Smith
Hello all, I am new to this (VoIP) and would like to know a little more about this to get up and running. (I have a lot of family abroad and would be cheaper for me if this actually works!) So:- 1. Does this work? 2. Will it work with any ISP/ADSL connection?

KCorp networking products - ****e by mark
Just spent the best part of 2 hours messing around with a KCorp 108mbps wireless PCI card.....took a chance on a new brand(wasn't cheap either)......... http://www.kcorplifestyle.com The thing is terrible. I have two networks, 1 normal G, 1 B and it will not find the B signal with the router sitting 10 feet away, no matter what I try. It only even acknowleges it's there when set to AdHoc!? I...

BT-Yahoo outages????? by Jim
Sorry, Newbie question. I run a small peer to peer network using an old P3/500 Compaq running smoothwall to connect to 1meg BB using a USR modem. I ran a test in the weeks before my kids 1/2 term and the whole setup ran continuously for 21 days with no disconnects at all until I shut down for our family holiday. When I get back - 31st Oct - the system disconnects (drops the line?) at about...

Plusnet Compromise Users Billing Data and personal address details by Sue Lee
When is this shambles of a company going to get it's wake up call? Not happy with the numerous issues around incorrect billing where "the customer" has to prove they were short changed by the woefully inadequate Plusnet billing systems/staff http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=plusnet&Number=1453407&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=0 or the poor customer service where the...

Draytek 2600+ Vx Cisco 837 by Linker3000
A software supplier is proposing to replace our Draytek 2600+ ADSL routers with Cisco 837s and from my perspective I can only see that they are doing this because they are familiar with the Cisco kit and have never actually used the Draytek. I'm sure the Cisco 837 is a good bit of kit but the supplier has also admitted that we will not gain any additional functionality and there are no...

BT Business Broadband Connection by Router by Nigel Heald
Hi We have a baffling problem, which hopefully someone may have an answer for. Our network comprises of a Windows 2003 Server, and 12 Windows XP Workstations, connected by a mix of Wireless and Cable. We can access the BT Business Broadband fine using the Alcatel Speedtouch "Frog" USB Modem that came from BT, and this connection is then shared with the workstations. Our problem is that when...
