Virgin broadband on its own - how much? Also, Vonage any good? by Murmansk69
I had NTL broadband a few years ago and stopped it. Now I'm thinking of going back to cable broadband with Virgin but I don't want their phone or TV - just the broadband. Their website doesn't give any details of the price for broadband on its own. Anyone signed up lately and can tell me what the basic service costs? Of course I will ring them and ask but I want to know what price to

New to ADSL MAX - should I leave my router switched on? by WCZ
I've just switched to a MAX product and was wondering if it was better to leave the router switched on all the time now? I normally switch it off when its not required but I don't really know if this will cause problems with MAX as the exchange will think the line drops once a day. Can anyone offer any advice? Cheers. WCZ.

3G-USB Broadband Dongles by Mark Carver
I notice an increasing range of these. Are there any short term (1 or 3 month ) contracts available, they all seem to be on 18/24 month contracts ? I'm thinking in terms of using one to 'bridge the gap' while moving house etc. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply.

Marxist New Labour Joins China, North Korea in Secretly ImplementingGlobal "Harm-Free" Internet Filtering For UK Adults by truedigital90@googlemail.com
You’re now viewing a state-mandated subset of the internet. How do you feel about that? As of December 31 last, all UK ISPs dutifully responded to Home Office minister Vernon Coaker’s request to ‘voluntarily’ sign up for the Cleanfeed system. Thus, as in China, the British have sheepishly agreed to have their Internet content, filtered, censored and where the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) or...

Sky broadband router by George Parr
Anyone know who makes the current Sky BB router? When I last looked, a few months ago, it was a Netgear but the one they're showing now is different. Besides the wireless connection it seems to have two wired ethernet ports - can anyone confirm that from experience? I really need 4 wired ports, but I assume I can plug a separate ethernet hub into the router to cover this? Also, any experience...
