Anyone called Belkin Support by Ken
When I called them years ago they were great. When I called this morning I got through instantly but felt like throwing the phone through the window in frustration. First attempt I could hardly hear the guy, couldn't understand his accent and was then cut off after giving all my details. Second attempt I kept connection, had to give all my details again, couldn't understand the accent and he...

Changing Pairs by naza
I am dealing with a mate of mines internet. He lives close to the exchange and people on the same pole as his get some good speeds but he gets so much lower. I understand that the route that his line takes could be so much different. But I was thinking of asking his ISP to change the pairs, but was wondering what they would actually do. Would they change the pairs at the pole and the exchange so...

Virgin Media - customers killfiling each other is against the rules. by Gonz
Well, it's against Alex Brown's rules anyway. And only if it's Carl that it affects. I had to laugh when I was told about it, I bet even the staff are cringing and giggling, too!

Speeds in UK versus speeds in N.America by stillnobodyhome@gmail.com
I am a member of a YahooGroup and the discussion got round to download speeds and here are a couple of comments ..the first from a guy in America ( I believe) and the other from a Canadian . Looks like us Brits have a long way to go to catchup. (1) U-verse is ATT's trademark name for its fiber optic to the house service. I've had the Verizon FiOS fiber optic for a year now with the ...

o2 email filtering blogspot by Pat
It has just taken me hours to find out that o2 blocks email messages with the phrase "blogspot.com" At least they do for me! Without any warning message. They just don't get delivered. They must employ a compulsory spam filter Does anyone know why they do this? Are they trying to hurt blogspot financially? Seems pretty underhand?

Lose internet after every powerdown .. ! by davethepathologist@googlemail.com
hi I've just setup cable broadband for someone, with cable modem & Linksys WRT54GS wireless router (which also has printer connected). It's basically a wired network, using Linksys as junction box for modem ethernet cable & printer (although the Wii uses wireless network). Everytime I turn the plug off at wall (e.g. at night) and then turn everything on again the next day, I get connection to...

Low router throughputs (WAN-LAN) by Rick Marks
I discovered recently that my VoIP router (SPA-3102) and its predecessor (SPA-2100) can't route from WAN-LAN faster than about 7.5Mbps. The latter not helped by only having 10Mbps Ethernet interfaces. Looking at Tomshardware guide (search for the router charts) it seems that quite a lot other plain routers, wired and wireless, don't fare much better. By and large you seem to get what you pay...

Sky Broadband opinions please by eadg
Hi, I spent an hour using the online chat service to find out about their 40G/8Mb package (£21 pm) and I was wondering what people's experience with Sky is on this package. At the moment I'm with Tesco but getting a max of only 1Mb on my 2Mb connection is gradually wearing me down, even if it does mean I will need a dish fitted. TIA -- SR
