I can have ther cheaper £16.99 price but they want me to pay for it in a way
:-
In order to offer a better service to our customers, we have partnered with
Telefonica for ADSL provisioning. Prior to Friday 3rd September, our ADSL
orders were provided via BT equiptment at costs regulated by BT - however,
by working with Telefonica instead, we can offer additional ADSL services

| | Broadband ordered at last by
Beck
Okay so BT have now allowed me to order broadband and the activation is set for
15th (week weds).
I have ordered the BTYahoo for games console which comes with a router for £20.
I have a couple of questions which were not answered in the account setup...
When are they likely to take first payment? Is it on the activation date?
How many filters come with the package?

| | Bulldog - IPStream or DataStream? by
Terrance
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knows whether the Bulldog AllTime1000
products is over IPStream or DataStream... I've tried to contact Bulldog
themselves about this but it seems their tech support phones are, um,
broken. And they're not replying to emails.
Thanks for your help peeps.

| | Extended reach BB by
Dave
Hi
As we know BB is set to increase it's reach as of the 6th September. After
reading numerous website and form entries about this I still have some
unanswered questions. Any help with these would be appreciated.
In some articles/posts it mentions that a new faceplate will be fitted to
your master socket by a BT engineer. Does this apply to every extended
reach customer? Will this be fitted...

| | Best setup on NTL by
NoSpam
I currently have only ever setup wired/wireless installations on BT ADSL.
What's the best equipment to get to connect 3 user's PCs (2 x laptop, 1 x
desktop) to NTL?
What equipment does NTL come with?
What equipment do you need to split the connection between 3 machines?

My friend just bought a new PC with XP home on. Having installed the AOL 9
cd rom and then the broadband cd, everything is fine.
Now after 2 days AOL keeps logging off BB and reconnecting. Also she is
trying to download AOL BB CheckUp. It gets so far (7mb or so) of the 15.6 mb
then hangs and will not continue with the download.
I have uninstalled AOL for her and reinstalled everything. All is...

| | Linksys wireless G router niggle by
Richard
Hi,
I am wireless to my laptop and to the lounge PC. No probs.
I am wired to my games and programs pc's in the computer room. The wired
links are all by ethernet, no USB. DCHP is enabled for laptop, all others
have fixed IP's.
I get the little popup at the bottom right on one of the wired connections
saying network disconnected for maybe a second, then it comes back up again.

| | NTL or BT by
NoSpam
Hi all.
My ex is moving into a new house and has the option to choose BT or NTL.
In the past there was a time when I would say go NTL because they were good
at undercutting BT.
However, in today's market with the pressure on BT to open up its lines so
that many companies are competitively fighting each other, I am inclined to
recommend BT to her.

| | Changing provider from Virgin Net by
Dave J
Does anyone have experience with switching from Virgin's ADSL
connection to a different provider?
I am thinking of using virgin's free installation with no 12 month
contract offer as a cut price way of getting the wiring sorted so I
can switch to a provider that offers a more reasonable data limit (ie
more than the ten percent usage offered by virgin)
Thanks for any help,

| | ADSL Nation AMX-64 by
Mark Carver
Just bought one of these second hand, for a friend who is having ADSL soon.
I've set it up with my own ADSL connection and it works fine.
However two odd things with it using the Shields Up port scan site.
Port 80 is shown as open, and all other ports are 'Closed' rather than 'Stealth'
My Solwise router doing the same test indicates 'Stealth' for everything.

| | 512kbps Nildram to 1mbps with..?? by
Paul Hutchings
Currently on 512kbps ADSL from Nildram, I'm on dslsurf500 but it's
physically an early engineer install.
I'm starting to get into online audio/video more and more so I'm tempted by
1mbps, 2mbps would be nice but whilst I could afford it I don't think I
could justify the extra outlay.
I've been happy with Nildram but they are more expensive than others so
I'm considering jumping ship.
