So how come you're getting 750K for £19.99 a month? Some kind
of deal where you get your first 3 months at a cheaper rate
or something?

| | Newsgroups offered by ISPs by
Steve Adams
One of the criteria often discussed when comparing the offerings of
various ISPs (broadband or otherwise) is the number of newsgroups to
which access is available. I'm currently on AOL dial-up, and although
there are newsgroups I can't access through the AOL interface I've
never had a problem (other than the delays!) accessing any newsgroup
if I minimise AOL, launch IE and go via Google...

| | Getting connected by
PeteC
Hi guys,
been a bit of a lurker these past few weeks as we are finally getting BB
from our local exchange on Wednesday 1st. I've pre ordered with Central
Point who "estimate" that we'll be online by 15th!!! Does it normally take
this long? I've read about some people getting online a few days before the
official connection date. We've also paid for the modem from them and it
hasn't arrived yet....

Sunil Sood
No connection to me but thought others may be interested.. - as I hadn't
seen it mentioned here
http://www.dialstart.net/ are offering 512k ADSL , no capping, no port
blocking, free connection and free modem at £17.99pm if signed up before
30/09/2004. (12 month contract)
They are a http://www.brightview.com/ company - so reliable (I assume!) and

| | Can I put an order in before 6th September? by
Miffed
I got turned down for broadband last year, and the checker at bt wholesale
still says I'm too far away.
Anyway, just wondering if I have to:
a) wait until the 6th before I can put in an order with my ISP of choice
b) put in an order a few days beforehand to make sure I get it as close to
the 6th as possible

| | 512 to 1mb at a competitive price by
Derrick Fawsitt
I am currently with PlusNet's 512 ADSL for approx. £24 for one year,
this of course included the modem etc., I would now like to upgrade to
1mb service which up to now means a jump of approx. £10. I have recently
been attracted by adds that "seem" to suggest 1mb "from" the price I am
now paying for 512, yet when you open the site up it suddenly is the
same pricing as it always was, (excuse...

J Houston
Purely hypothetically, what would BT do about a
company that was sharing a single-user broadband
account, say for the sake of argument 'BT Business
500 Plug and Go', across a LAN of about 40 PC's
if they were to be told about it by a disgruntled
ex-employee?
