PlusNet will offer two static IPs as part of their unrestricted BB

The other thing is whether going to BT for BB is likely to get a

Can the cheapest Tiscali broadband be used with a modem/router or just
router and the Tiscali supplied modem, and two PCs run off this one
broadband line?
Ideally I would like the router at the master phone socket, which is at one
end of the house, and the PCs fed via existing telephone wires, on different
floors at the other end of the house. The telephone wires can be connected
at the master...

Plenty offer accounts with download limits. Some have been around a
while (MetroNet, from 10 to about 23 quid a month, plus VAT, on a
sliding scale charging extra per MB so you pay for what you use) to

At the moment i am 5k from the exchange, we failed the line test. All the
lines are new (new build house), i am hoping when the noise limits are
relaxed we will be able to get 512.
A question, at the moment, our line is so bad that normal 56k modems wont
connect over 33k, i have an external high quality modem that reliably gets
me 38k though. With the new limits, how bad does your line have to...

BT, Tiscali and Wanadoo are the 3 main "cappers" it seems. Other smaller
ISP's may have some sort of caps on certain packages (i.e. pay less,
have a cap etc).

Can you borrow a different modem/router from a friend and test that?
Similarly can you test your router on another connection? It will tell
you if your router is at fault or if there is some kind of routing
problem somewhere.
If you have any antivirus/firewall/spyware filtering program which will
be affecting your Internet connection then turn it off. Run your computer
with nothing open...

Hi there;
I recently installed and configured an eTec Wireless ADSL Router.
Everything works, except the fact that only Google works! The laptop I
am using to connect to the wireless router shows this problem, as does
the main PC which is connected to the router via USB. Gmail, Google
and all Google sites/pages work, but no other websites do.
I am able to ping sites just fine... :S Help?

Is it possible to set up a web server at home with the Pipex Solo 250

Does this service use a dynamically assigned ip address?
Does Pipex block incoming port 80, or port 21 for that matter?
I have got apache installed at home and using port 80. I'm using a
router that has port 80 opened forwarded to the apache server. I just
