Plusnet Non Provide of Service now trying to penalise my mother by MeGgAhUrTz
My Mother has been a Plusnet Subscriber for a number of years, I upgraded her account to a broadband package at £14.99 a month, all was going well until 14th January (8 months on Broadband).. I rang Plusnet on the 16th January, I got told to check all the filters etc which I did and also bypassed all internal wiring and bypassed the master socket, still no joy after several emails she is...

Virgin ... what do you think? by Ron
I recently upgraded from a NTL dialup to a Virgin 8mb package. I have been through the settling down period during which speeds would sometimes run at 2, 3 or even 4mb. At other times they were much lower, 300kbs, or even 200kbs. I expected that. Now I am consistently on a speed a little above 400kbs, the "minimum" level which is considered acceptable, and since the line clearly can...

Homeplug problems by Sean Inglis
Last night, I had no problems using my Billion Bipac enabled homeplug router with solwise homeplugs. I set up my brother with Devolo 85 mbps plugs, and again, up until late last night, no problems. This morning, neither of us can get a peep out of our respective homeplug setups. I've been through the obvious checking cables, passwords, swapping out spare homeplugs etc, and instructed him to do...

End of contract bonus? by bornfree
My contract with Eclipse just ended. Anyone know if they do some kind of win back offer? I am thinking about going to Be, but if Eclipse cut their price or something I would be pretty pleased.

Advice wanted - likely speed obtainable? by Martin D. Pay
Gentles - I'm on the point of migrating to ADSL24 from F2S (call it the Tiscali factor) and find myself in need of advice... I'm currently on a fixed 1MB service, the same service that I've had since I first took up broadband around 4 years ago. Max hadn't been invented and 1MB was all that my line would support according to F2S. (The F2S package also has a meagre 10GB/month total peak time...

Excellent Linksys Guaranty by Geoff Lane
Back in early January I posted an enquiry about a problem with ethernet connections on my Linksys WAG54G http://tinyurl.com/2jwd36 One message suggested I may still be within the guaranty period, I hadn't even given this a thought as it was over two years old. It was in fact 2years 9months old. A freephone call to Linksys confirmed in was still under warranty, a freepost delivery label was...

BT line, talk talk phone, ADSL? by The Natural Philosopher
The history doesn;'t bear repeating but a situation has arisen where someone has a BT line with a talk talk service and wants ADSL..the broadband checkers say that the line 'has another service on it that will peveent ADSL' whereas BT swear blind they can put broadband on any phone line even an LLU one. What are the FACTS? Exchange is kosher with ADSL max etc. etc.

Orange POP and webmail by Leo9
I've been with Freeserve / Wanadoo / Orange broadband for years and have an fsnet.co.uk email address, which I normally access through OE but when Orange webmail came along I signed up to be able to access my emails through that too. The password is the same for both. If I move to another ISP, will I still be able to go to Orange webmail and see any emails that may have been sent to me at my...

Tiscali rubbish customer service by Tim Rogers
A mate of mine new to computers has been trying for the last week to connect to Tiscali broadband. I went round about 10 days ago to set him up. Seemed to work OK but by the next day the connection had gone. I think he thought I'd set it up wrong. I went round to help him and I could couldn't get it to connect. Rang their customer services to be told there was a problem 'at the...
