Demon's Late Invoicing by CJB
I've just been overwhelmed by Demon's invoicing - they've just sent me an invoice to renew my annual b.b. subscription which expired THREE months ago. They did not invoice me before August to warn me to renew. No - they waited until I was well into the new contract year. They KNEW that I wanted to cancel my Demon b.b sub. because I want to switch over to the Post Office for broadband and...

BT Engineers please help.. by Clint Sharp
Sorry for the long post, please bear with me. I have a problem with my broadband, I'm certain it's a line or exchange problem but would appreciate some input from the BT engineers who pop up here every now and then as well as the other knowledgeable people here. For weeks I've had a line issue when and for a while after it rains. Crackling, hissing and buzzing, causing the sync speed to...

Is there something wrong with the digital spy website at the moment. (www.digitalspy.co.uk) I cannot access it on both my home computers (wireless connection to Orange livebox) However, I can access it via GPRS on my mobile phone using Opera Mini. I thought I had done something to my laptop but when I tried to access the digital spy website via my desktop and it would not load either!!

VoIP with 3 Mobile BB? by Roger Mills
I have seen various discussions suggesting that 3 Mobile BB may block the ports used by VoIP - preventing its use. Can anyone give a definitive answer as to whether this is so or not? If VoIP *does* work, what would be the best way to go about it? For home use (with a fixed line), I use a PAP2T connected to my broadband router - but I obviously couldn't connect that directly to a 3 USB...

That's what I'm hoping to do if they don't get this resolved, but, I won't pay the remainder of a 12 month contract for nothing. I'm asking about how to successfully go about nullifying that contract so I CAN switch. The PO can't withold a MAC because of payment dispute. Ofcom's rules.

BT2700HGV by Graham J
The manual says "Remote management and provisioning via SSL connection from BT's Remote Management Platform (RMS) (DSL Forum TR-069)". Is there any way I can use this so I can have remote managment? Also, I can open a "pinhole" (their term) through the firewall (for example for VNC) but I can see no way to secure this by specifying the IP address of the VNC viewer. One can only specify the...

Share public wlan connection? by Jamesb
Hello, Will be off for a week in a hotel soon, where I normally utilise their wlan for the week. It's not particularly cheap unfortunately, and this time, my dad wants to take his own laptop too. Assuming we get a room next to each other (usually the case) and he can "see" my machine, can I share my connection to the internet? i.e. be connected to an AP but act as one too? Is it as simple as...

BT by the_constructor
Is BT now set to be taken over ..... ? Are different sections of BT to be sold off .....? Will Virgin, Plus.net, A T & T be looking to make bids.....? With the share prices being what they are, I personally don't think it will be long before BT is brought to it's knees... James
