How can I find out what speed an exchange provides? by bornfree
I want to know the speed that the exchange at Bayswater (WEWBAY), Central London can achieve. www.samknows.com doesn't seem to give a speed any more. (I think it used to, but I am not sure.)

Changing ISP Mid-term by Mike P
How much does it cost to change ISP mid-contract? I've been with Tiscali about 20 months now and it's gone from perfectly OK, to ****e in about 3 months. Will I have to pay off the rest of my Tiscali contract? Cheers Mike P

Tiscali Max by capsule
I've had a stable 2Meg broadband connection from Tiscali for a couple of years. The other day, the connection turned to crap, and right afterwards I got an email saying that I'd been given a free upgrade to Tiscali Max. Previously my line used to sync at this every time: 2304kb/s down 288kb/s up

Pipex Solo 1000 - WTF? by Dom Robinson
I'm on this old deal with the £23.44/month cost and have just found out (I'm presuming this happened in the last week as the news server has SNAFU'd as well, even though their site claims no problem with it) that instead of getting the 2Mb service I've been getting for some time, I'm only on 1Mb! Might sound obvious from the "1000" part of the name, but it went up to 2Mb some time ago. I've had...

Trouble with Tiscali (Long) by Nick Castle
Hi, I have been with Tiscali for Broadband since December 2006 with no major problems, In about April 2007 we decided to take the Tiscali Talk package which meant we paid the line rental to Tiscali and the BT account was closed. Anyway, all was well and at the end of November 2007 we received a letter from Tiscali saying that free line rental was now available in or area and we could get...

Tiscali by Aldrington
Well everyone (should) know that Tiscali are ****e. Just come across their forum and this: http://www.tiscali.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=141461 "Easy Posts" Isn't it great that Moderators (Tiscali) seem to only reply to "Easy posts" those that they can deal with?

moving back by pye
Am currently in the process of moving back to B.T. from Tiscali LLU. Talked to B.T. and they said they can transfer telephone service no problem but what im unclear about is the Broadband. Obviousley I need to do this seperate from the phone but do I need a MAC code? Until the line is back with B.T. the broadband line checkers will not reconise the number as a B.T. line so there will be some...

Talk Talk deal by Hugh
Hi I'm currently receiving 1M BB with tiscali (£13 + £10.50 for Line to BT) . I had a flyer from TT saying "Free BB for £16" if you move line to them from BT. Apparently they are unbundled at local exchange and estimate I can get 2.6M (ADSL2) as opposed to Tiscali 1M using BT wholesale. I know others experiences with TT BB are very mixed/poor, but wondered on the wisdom of switching the...

Dodgy Virgin Media Set-top Box by judith
I understand that you can buy a set-top box with a PVR which will just plug in to a Virgin Media cable - ie it replaces your existing box. However, when you come to use it you may observe that it receives (and can record if you wish) all channels (including the pay to view channels) and makes them available to you free of charge. I assume this break the Ts&Cs of your contract with VM and they...

Connected to isp but no internet? Any ideas? by Handy Andy
DG834G 2 year old Mesh XP PC. When I set up and operate the router with my laptop everything is fine. I can't get the PC to talk to the router ip but the 10/100 Ethernet says I'm connected, there is a second connection in control pannel called Internet Connection. This reports a connection at 1.2mb/s which is exactly the speed I am getting down from the isp (talk talk) on the laptop. This is the...
