| | Broadband and 2nd HH line by
IslanderUK
Hi
I have Home Highway at the moment which mans I get 2 phone lines and
the ISDN line.
If I switch to broadband do I lose the second phone line and end up
with just one phone line and the Broadband line.
HH is the only way they could get a second phone line into my property
and I really don't want to lose it.

| | Beware placing an order with ISP before exchange enabled by
John Towill
I placed an order with PlusNet before my exchange was enabled. Over a week
after it was enabled there was no movement on the order, and no order on BT
for my telephone line.
I contacted PlusNet who then placed an order, they told me that a fault in
the BT ordering system sometimes "loses" orders if pre exchange enablement.
So I suggest that if you order before exchange enablement you check...

| | Northern Ireland to get 100% "Broadband Coverage" by
Sunil Sood
BT has been chosen (out of 27 companies) as the preferred supplier to
provide 100% "broadband coverage", bu the Department of Enterprise, Trade
and Investment in Northern Ireland.
It has to provide 100% coverage by the end of 2005.
100% "broadband coverage" means that as well as enabling every exchange in
NI, it will have to find alternative solutions (wireless/mesh
radio/satellite) for the...

What is a DSLAM ?
Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer is a device usually located in
the BT exchange that connects many digital subscriber lines to a network by
multiplexing the ADSL traffic onto one or more network trunk lines. The
ADSL lines go into the DSLAM and then go out to PVC's (Permanent Virtual
Connections) these are where BT intends that contention should take place.
They have...

| | Vispa - what does this mean? by
Dave
After many trips to the BT Broadband checker and finding out that my line is
still too long I followed a bit of advice further down and tried Vispa.
When I click the signup button, it asks for my phone number so it can check
I can get broadband. I put the phone number in and the signup process
continues. No "sorry you line is too long" or "you cannot get broadband".
Does this mean that Vispa...

| | Shared BroadBand Internet Connections! ***** by
rob
Someone has recently told me that a broadband connection wont slow, if
two computers are sharing and using the internet connection at the
same time.
if you are using a 512kbps connection, shared with a router, you would
have a slower connection if someone else is using it. eg using the
same programs etc, 256kbps each. i dont see why if this isnt true, why
a company could charge a higher price...

advantage of this now that prices are reduced. The BT wholesale site has

doesn't work.
They also say this information can be located on "BT Extra" but all I can
