Hello all

wireless networks.
Here's the gen. I have a D-Link pci card in the desktop and a D-Link pc card
in the laptop, connected ad-hoc. The mouse is a Logitech mouseman cordless
optical. If I use the briefcase function in XP to synchronise the my
documents, or attempt a large file transfer, the desktop system tends to

| | BT Openworld settings by
Alex Hunsley
My family use an ADSL USB modem to connect to BT Openworld currently.
I'm due to to replace this USB modem with a Q-tec ADSL 4 port router
modem (model: 584AA).
Only problem is, this piece of hardware doesn't come with any form of
cheatsheet to help me know what the ADSL settings are for BT Openworld.
The manual does contain some settings for "common connection scenarios".
So, can anyone...

| | Mutiple Uplink Bonding by
mike
They may seem like a silly question, but if I wanted to acheive fast upload
speeds by bonding 4 x 512/256kbps lines, does this mean I need 4 seperate
phone lines installed(ie, 4 sockets)? and 4 seperate accounts with an ISP?

What do you guys think about Pipex, Eclipse and the BlueBeyonder cable from
Telewest ?
Especially did you have some bad experiences ? (like not able to use file
sharing, P2P or online gaming ??)

has anyone seen the article on the register website
http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/51/35211.html
Looks like a story is brewing up there in Sheffy.
They say that between them and Plusnet they have employed about 400 staff in
total. I'm not sure if Plusnet are linked to this as Insight are the parent
company.
There's usually no smoke without fire. If you look at the plusnet
webcamera's...

APologies to the BT employee. THe comment about hating BT was meant to be
tongue in cheek!!.
They are however very frustrating because it is impossible to actually get
to speak to anyone who can give an answer to anything that isnt from the
screeen in front of them.
Following the letter telling me they couldnt supply BB the modem and
equipment has arrived today for a Monday connection
I am now...

I have an old Toshiba LapTop - a Satellite 220CS running Windows 98SE - and

The software loads ok and the card is found by the software when inserted
and loads the drivers, but a few seconds later when the wireless connection
is made to my DG834G NetGear Router, (when the lights...

Has anyone any recommendations?

| | Router with 2 internet connections by
J.Neuhoff
Hi,
Are there any routers which could support 2 internet connections?
Our main connection is via a WET11 to a wireless link to the internet, the
other one is through an ADSL line and serves as a backup line in case the
first link fails. All Ethernet-based of course, for a simple LAN consisting
of Linux and Windows XP boxes.
