Is there a utility to measure wi-fi usage? by IMOGEN
Hi folks. I'm using a D-LINK DSL-G624T router, connected via ethernet to my pc, and I've set up a secure wi-fi network, so that my neighbour can access the net. I've currently got a 5 GB cap, and I'd like to be able to say to my neighbour "This is how much I've downloaded, this is your portion", so we can split the cost accordingly. I contacted madasafish, who supplied the router, but they said...

SKY ROUTER by Dave Boomhauer
Does anyone know what make and model the new Sky Router is (not the DG834GT)? It is black and looks like a Sky HD Receiver.... I also need a hack to obtain the username and password as it has gone kaput and don't want to wait for the exchange - prefer to go back to my old router......

Have you seen a wonderful, delicate work without a worker ?! It's you and the whole universe!.. Who has made them all ?!! You know who ?.. It's "ALLAH",prise be to him. Just think for a moment.

talktalk .. hg520s problem by Jim Jackson
Hi, Rather sillily I volunteered to get a friend's taltalk connection setup. She has bought a talktalk wireless wap/router (Huawei HG520s). I _think_ I've got wireless and ADSL all setup ok. The ADSL trains and syncs quickly at a tad over 3M when the router is powered up. The wireless is setup, for the moment, as "open" with MAC filtering.

However the router says in its setup that I have another default gateway which is my IP with the last octet as 1 ie a.b.c.1 where my ip is a.b.c.d Ok, what's the point of this one? thanks.

Talk Talk, are they any good? by That Man!
My ADSL max contract with Virgin broadband is due for renewal shortly. Because of the appalling customer services experiences I have had with Virgin, I'm looking around for another provider. Being on the Slaithwaite (Huddersfield) exchange I'm very limited as only Virgin and Talk Talk have LLU's in this exchange apparently?? Has anyone any ideas please?

Connection query by P & H Macguire
Recently, under both Firefox and IE 6, I have been having trouble connecting. About one time in three, I get "Cannot find server" or something similar. When I click, sometimes double, on "try again" it eventually (sometimes) connects. Is this more likely to be something at my end of things or the ISP (Virgin Net)? Regards Pat Macguire

Windows Homer Server and Providers blocking the required ports by CadmannUK
Hi All, Do any of you have a list of the ISP that are allowing Windows Home Server to use ports 80, 443 and 4125. I'm with TalkTalk and I can't seem to access my WHS PC remotely and I think it might be TalkTalk blocking these ports. Cheers CAD

My neighbour's ISP? by treenoakio@googlemail.com
Hi, my neighbour is having trouble getting on-line with her broadband connection. She tells me that after hopping from ISP to ISP, including AOL, Telewest, BlueYonder etc., she is currently with *Virgin Broadband*. I can see no indications of this on her existing computer setup, in fact there's a lot of BlueYonder related stuff. This includes her current username: ....

New to broadband :( by BigGirlsBlouse
Having been on dial up for the last 7years I finally have to move after dear old Virgin Media have decided to terminate my NTL Freedom dial up service in March 08. This gave unlimited use of the net at any time of the day for any period (the NTL gearbox cutting you off after 2 hours...but you could dial right in again) and any phone calls up to £15 worth a month.... that is national,...
