Yes you can use a router fine, I am currently using a DG814 quite happily. The only problem is that the download speed quite often is very slow and you need to reboot the router at least once a week for some reason, I know this is not a fault of the router as it was happily working in bt for 6 months without a single reboot. I understand that 50:1 contention means that up to 50 people are sharing bandwidth, but sharing how much exactly? Does it mean that if all 50 are on a 512 connection you could potentially have download speeds of 10Kbps, or am I completely misunderstanding it?

Hi, I use GioInternet, and so far I have not had any problems. Since yesterday I have started having problems accessing certain sites (eg. http://www.wh2.org) which worked previously.
