Also as you are not with little ol' Metronet; I ain't gonna help :P
If ever there was a missed opportunity to show how Metronet support shone
above that of other ISPs, you just missed it :-p
At least you had the decency to try to help though :-}

Hi,
Sorry if this seems to be vague, but I'm really running out of ideas!
Since moving house, I've been unable to connect to my Freeserve Broadband
account. I've done (I think) pretty much everything Freeserve have asked...
changed my address/dial up number with them, connected through the main line
in the house, connected not using a filter, updated drivers to version 2.0
something or...

| | Speedtouch 510 v4 Vs Draytek Vigor 2600 (firewall) by
tHatDudeUK
I am considering purchasing one of these two routers. I wondered whether the
2600 was worth the extra cost (rougly £40) just for the extra firewall
features.... I'm hoping for an in one box solution which will rid my system
of the need for a firewall.
The 2600 appears to have better support than the 510 v4 in terms of F/W
updates and the forum etc, although any questions I posted at...

| | BT Boradband - Cannot Connect! by

Hi all,
Dont know if anyone will be able to help me here. I ordered BT Broadband
last week, and was given a connection date of Wednesday, however it is
connected today, being Monday. The data light has stopped flashing etc.
Anyways, when I go to connect via the DUN that I created myself, I am told
that "The computer you're dialing in to cannot establish a Dial-Up
Networking connection.

| | Connecting an DSL-300G+ to a DI-614+ by
B Hope
Hi
I am not sure if this helps since I have the 624 but in my case it is the
300G which gives the router its IP address and then the router gives the
computers on the local network their IP addresses using DHCP. (I am
assuming that your router has a WAN connection as well as the LAN ports).
However, there is one complication. The default address to access the
settings of my router is...

Been using FS since 98 & moved to BB in Nov 2002. It just works - one
outage of around 5 hours but almost certain this was my local exchange
as I saw the service come back and it had all the hallmarks of major
software application and re-boot of the DSLAM.
Other than that speeds are good (up is around 50k/bs down around
30K/bs) but then I'm less than 2K ft by wire from the exchange.
Support is...
