Win98 isn't compatible with USB I don't think. You need Win98SE or
later from what I remember.

Come October my local exchange is due to be ADSL enabled, so I have ordered
a conversion from Home Highway to ADSL, however my setup is a little
unconventional and I am looking for some advice.
Our BT master socket is downstairs in the hallway, the HH box is in the back
bedroom and a length of Cat 5e connects one of the digital ports to a ISDN
card in my server in another room (cat 5 runs under...

I wouldn't recommend BT to my worst enemy, but there are plenty of
other ADSL ISP's that are far better than NTL.

Hi there folks,
Does anyone know how to find out which areas are covered by an exchange
(Camrose, Pembrokeshire in this case). I'm putting together a sign-up
campain for the exchange and can't seem to find the info anywhere.

John Daragon
Well, we've got a date for broadband... and it's *never*. The local exchange
has 28 preregistrations, and most of the houses out here are beyond line of
sight.
I seem to remember there being a scheme where you could stump up a few ens
of thousands up front and get BT to install the kit anyway. But I can't
find a reference to the scheme.
Anyone out there recognise this ?

Hi there.
My ISP does not allow connections to Peer to Peer networks but a few
of my PC friends have got round this by using programs called HTTP
Tunnel or Hopster... Apparently they use SOCKS Proxy or something?
Does anyone know of an equivalent program for MAC?

| | Force9/PlusNet router - does it support uPnP? by
Martin Underwood
I understand that the router normally provided by Force 9 / PlusNet
(Solwise, I believe) supports NAT (netowrk address translation) so it will
route a single public IP address on the internet to a number of private IP
addresses for each computer on a private network.
But does it also support uPnp? I believe that this is necessary for MSN
Messenger's Webcam and Audio facilities to work.
Would...

Just took a working SAR 715 and loaded the latest software onto it as
I need a feature in the latest release. Now the BT test account works
(i get an IP address) but it won't log on using the @hg47.btclick

Any ideas?
I have confirmed with BT that the account details seem to be correct -

I have just started using Satellite broadband and so far it's pretty
good. However, when I log onto Drumbeat or Acquisition's peer to peer

Can anyone think of a reason why this would suddenly happen? There was
no problems on my ISDN connection but I can download nothing now.
Thanks,
