Need ISP that takes cash/cheques by John
I'm with Zen for my sins, but I've had enough of them now and need to move on, anyone know of any ISP's that will allow me to pay by cheque or cash, I have no problem paying for first payment by CC if I have to, but only that transaction not every month, sorry Zen but your attitude sucks just like your news server and even the ADSL service has become a joke now

OT: (A bit) Help with Wannadoo or a French ISP that offers static IP address. by Chris Wilkinson
Hmmm sounds typically French from my experience. No I never got Extense (The 512k ADSL package I presume is what you mean) to work with anything other than a PC. They seem to block ports and do all sorts of funny things to restrict use. I eventually got fed up and wound out of my dealings with Wanadoo and went to Tele2 but not with much better results. They are cheaper but that is about...

No sync error on new installation by Mike Easley
Thanks for all the replies. The modem I was referring to was the existing analogue modem in my PC rather than the Speedtouch ADSL modem. My microfilters have 2 sockets - one for telephony equipment and one for ADSL equipment - the presentation from the ADSL modem is different to our UK telephones so the filters take care of this. Tried unplugging everything else, no joy. Ah well, I'll wait for...

Dynamic IP address on PIPEX xtreme solo by phantom
I've hust read that PIPEX xtreme solo customers can now request a change from a static IP address to a truly dynamic one. Can someone please explain what the advantages/disadvantages are in doing this please and what the differences are. One small advantage is that you aren't a permanent target for hackers: one IP on the day they scan you, a completely different one when they try to...

Broadband ok with two computers? by Martin²
You can buy a modem/router with one Ethernet and one USB port such as ZoomX44, (there is also Netgear DM602, but mine didn't work, not even the USB driver would load, had to return it) and yes, you can use either or both ports simultaneously. Regards, Martin

ADSL with Telewest by Bill
I am trying to get an ADSL connection to a phone line in Edinburgh that is supplied by Telewest. All of the information on ADSL that I have seen has said that a BT line is required. I have checked with Eclipse and F2S who both say that they cannot connect ADSL to a Telewest phone line. Am I limited to Blueyonder or is there another ADSL ISP that I can use? Thanks.

Is it possible/feasible to have two pc, that are situated close together, connected to broadband via a single standard USB ADSL Modem so that either of them can go on-line but with only one pc on-line at any one time? Only if you physically unplug one from the modem and plug then other in. Or... buy a router with a built in modem - you will be a lot more secure against hackers -...
