Installation closeness to wall socket!? by Pete Stockdale
Considering Broadband. However, noticed that BT say pc and BB modem should be located within 3m of telephone wall socket...and somewhere else noted that advises best not to use BB with telephone extension cables! Damn, if that's correct I have a prob. I have a telephone extension between wall socket downstairs and bedroom/office upstairs. Can anyone provide advice? Thanks, Pete

Hi, It's suspiciously quiet in the NTL newsgroups - haven't seen a new post appear in more than 12 hours, and a post to NTL.test has not been listed. Can connect to the server(s) and see old posts OK. Applies to at least the following news servers: news.cable.ntlworld.com

I am getting 250K download and 110K upload with my 150K NTL broadband. Is this normal? Can I also presume than their 600K should give around 1MB and their 1MB should give about 1.5MB? thanks John

So what I want to do is just get an ADSL modem with an ethernet out to go...
