I was trying to diagnose problems with a newly-activated broadband line for

about where the problem lies?

| | Tiscali broadband and BT pbx by
colwyn
I am trying to set up Tiscali Broadband for a friend, but encountered a
couple of problems:
1.) ADSL filter does not work on master telephone( phone goes dead), but is
ok on all extensions.
2.) Installation seems to be ok, however I get message back saying ' no dial
tone'.
OS = win XP
Modem is Speedtouch 330 ADSL
I'd be grateful for any suggestion to get my friends system operational.
TIA

| | STM on Virgin ADSL? by
Gonz
Is this true?
"If you pass the limit on ADSL your limited to 512k for A WHOLE WEEK"
Is this right?
"STM is a Cisco uBR technology, how is that applied to a Virgin ADSL
connection that is serviced from a non unbundled BT exchange???"

somewhere that might be cheaper to renew this lot in bulk? All I want is
the domain registration and ability to change the DNS servers, and no
transfer in/out penalties.
I notice there are various US registrars who seem to cost the same or...

Any ideas on this? I set up a D-Link DI-514 802.11b wireless router

problems; the other 2 have problems loading web pages. Both problem
laptops are IBM THinkpads. (the OK ones are a DELL and a MAC). One
of the Thinkpads is about a year old, but had not used its...

| | ADSL & external bell wiring. Ping kraftee. by
Peter Crosland
I have been to a friend who has suffered low line speed for some time. On
checking the BT installed NTE5 master socket I found that the external bell
was wired into the system behind the wall mounted part of the socket i.e.
before the test socket. Is this correct and how should it be wired? Maybe
kraftee can answer. TIA
