| | Will I definitely be OK to get broadband at my new address? by
Steve M
Hi all,
I'm moving house a week on Sunday, and obviously want to get myself back
online as soon as possible after that. There's a BT line and phone in
the flat, although it's currently disconnected as no-one lives there.
I just tried BT's online broadband checker using the phone number for
the flat and got the following message back:
"Your exchange has broadband.

| | Vigor 2200USB router with T-Mobile 3G USB Modem ? by
Chris
Has anyone successfully interfaced a Draytek Vigor 2200USB DSL router
with T-Mobile's 3G USB wireless modem? Draytek don't support this
modem anymore, and when I try to load the wireless USB modem's
firmware into the router (as you are supposed to do before using other
USB ADSL modems), it just won't recognise it.
Regards, Chris

| | Choice of e-mail/web hosting provider by
Mike J
Hi folks.
To save problems of changing e-mails etc when moving ISPs, we are
thinking of getting our own domain and using a web hoster (at least for
the 'official' type addresses for banks etc and keeping 'free' ones for
group downloads so download limits arent really a problem)
Having looked, Fasthosts do a good package for only £3.99 or UK2.net
similar or slightly better at £5.99.

duplessisnicolas@gmail.com
Hi all,
I just subscribed to TalkTalk wireless broadband. After receiving
their Huawei HG520s router I noticed that I could access websites but
could not login my gmail, hotmail, MSN or upload pictures on facebook
(Internet Explorer can not access this webpage error). Appart from
that everything is fine but for some reason it won't let me access
those sites. I called Talktalk's helpdesk (really...

| | Wireless router for cable modem? by
John
A friend asked for recommendations for a wireless router to connect to his
cable (old Telewest/Blueyonder, now VM, I believe?) modem. Unfortunately I
can't offer any advice because I've always been on ADSL, not cable.
What do you venerable gurus here suggest?
TIA,
John

Q
Quick one,
Trying to help my friend figure out how he redeems his free wifi minuets
from BT.
The website appears not to shed any light onto the matter (Either BTBB, or
BTOZ) they all just say you need to 'opt in' Anyone advise how this is done!
Cheers.

| | BRAS Profile .... Entanet by
Uncle Nobby
Hi
I'm on Entanet with UKFSN and my profile had been stable for months at
6500kbps, and I was able to download at line speeds.
In the past few days I had noticed a speed drop so I did a BT speed check, I
found that my profile had been changed down to 3000kbps.
Not sure why this is but I would like to get it back up to speed.

Alasdair
Can someone tell me the precise frequency for the 802.11g system? I
want to get hold of a Yagi antenna to enable me to receive signals
from a router in another building about 850 metres away. I am having
a problem sourcing such an item.

| | BT Broadband is the worst - never again. by
ManOfPeace
I have not had broadband service for 9 days. BT customer service is
the worst. It should be called BT torture service. Their off-shore
call center in India is overloaded and inept.
Scenario of events:
There was an outage in my area for 2 days.
After that, I still had no broadband.
They said there was something wrong with the line.
They tested the line. They said it was okay.
So they sent me a...
