Noise on Orange livebox Help by JohnP
I have a load of noise on my land line when the livebox is connected. Have tried all the various test like new filters, new phone etc. Even had BT out who traced the problem to the livebox itself and charged £90 for the privilige :( Surprise suprise, Orange don't want to know. The livebox generates lots of hissing noise on the voice side of the line, making it difficult to hear a...

OT:Squirrel Mail & Spam by Stephen@mailinator.com
When I log into my email account via webmail I usually have a lot of spam. Some of it is highlighted in bold which means it's unread but some of it isn't even though I know I haven't opened it (as it's often new). Is there any other way an email could appear unread when it hasn't been read? Would Spamseive 'read' an email when it's deciding whether or not it's spam and would marking the subject...

Broadband Sync speed vs actual down speed? by Herb
I am paying for ADSL Max (upto 8mb) and my line syncs around 3872 kbps all the time. Problem is the download speed is 1957 kbps on speed tests and never goes above 2mb ever. What speed should I be expecting at this sync and why is the average download speed so low? The line is with BT, the broadband is with Virgin.

ADSL - Sky - ADSL Question by Steve
My mother had a normal ADSL broadband connection through her phone line. She then cancelled and went with SKY via satellite (not a pleasant experience) She has now cancelled SKY and wants to return to broadband via her phone line. Questions: - does she have to get her phone line "enabled" again, or is she ready for simple sign up and off?

Hi, Not sure if this is the correct group but here goes. For some time now I have been unable to access the itv local service http://www.itvlocal.com/meridian it comes up with a message telling me it is only avalible to users in the UK. I have checked my ip addrss on http://www.ip-adress.com and it reports 79.65.155.72 as near Leeds, nowhere near me but still in the UK.

Cable broadband question by Graham
A colleague has cable broadband from Virgin. The reliability is awful; and the speed is not very good. Can he migrate to another cable supplier? Or is he stuck with NTL (which appears to provide the service for Virgin)? I've looked at various websites for comparing cable suppliers, but I don't understand them, because they do not appear to distinguish between cable and ADSL suppliers.

Stale web caches at orange broadband? by Mike
I've suspected this a problem before, as pages I know have been updated haven't been visible to me, but I've never seen it this bad before Going here at around 13:15 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/england/6973675.stm I saw the score in today's cricket was 50-0. SSB (Removal) Question by Q
Now here is something I've not had to deal with before and I'm hoping someone on here can help me out, or at least point me in the correct direction. How can you get BT to remove SSB from a line ? (Selective Service Baring) Having waded through SIN's there seem to be a process/procedure in having it removed, or at least expanded to allow access to upto 4 realms. Has anyone ever had this...

Ah, good old fashioned "good news, bad news" by Elder
Good news, the Linksys AG241 seems to solved my synching issues I was having with the budget dynamode that I've been using for two years. And it stacks nicely with my Linksys wireless AP too. Bad news, while the bulldog test account works great (like it has been for the last 7 months), the bloody stupid morons can't manage to make my account work with work with a static IP. Since March when...
