| | Fritz Box on O2/Be by
RJ
I am waiting for my MAC from Pipex with the intention of transferring to O2
which has just become available on my exchange.
I currently use VOIP via a Fritz Box 7140, which works very well and prefer
not to use the O2 router provided (speedtouch 780wl with propriety O2
software) which I understand would not be suitable for us as we use more
than one VOIP provider.

| | Phone backlight stopping on when using VoIP by
Harry Stottle
I have a Sipura 2000 connected to a Netgear WGT 624 router, and the dect
phone that is plugged into the Sipura is a Philips SE 4351. The handset
backlight on the phone is supposed to switch off after 20 seconds of no
key pressing or activity, but remains on all the time, therefore
draining the battery very quickly. I tried a second handset and this did
not make any difference, and it is the...

| | Sound/call quality tweaks (on an SPA3102)... by
Jose
Hi All,
I've just started using my SPA3102, and wasn't impressed with both the
sound quality of an incoming PSTN call - I don't know if the person on
the other side was using a poor cordless phone (?) - and an outgoing
call to a mobile in a diferent country - not the easiest scnearios, I
know...
Still, I've changed "Jitter buffer adjustment" from "up and down" to
"up only" - trying to increase...

| | Linksys SPA-400 ? by
Marc Zirnheld
I could not find the SPA-400 user manual on the internet, and before
buying one I need to check something.
On a SPA 3100 (same as SPA 3102 but without a router) you can forward a
call from PSTN to VOIP and select a "on-hook while calling VOIP" field
in the config menus (this is only in the latests firmware releases).
Does someone now if the same can be done on the SPA-400 ?
Or if someone...

| | My VOIP has stopped working .. by
T i m
Hi All,
Probably not strictly on topic but I have lost my VOIP lines. :-(
The reason is my Fritz!Box Fon WLAN 7140 seems to have stopped picking
up DHCP from my cable modem (VM, CM ok with PC directly).
I tried all the usual (soft reset, power cycle, factory default) but
now I can't even get back into it? ;-(

Stephen Hammond
Using VoipCheap Access number in Spain
I advised my Uncle to use the 911328008 access number for VoipCheap in Spain
and they had a huge bill from Telefonica (landline provider). Anyone know
how much Telefonica charge for phoning 911328008 it only costs 1p / minute
from the UK using 181815?
P.S. How do I post to two newsgroups at once.

| | Help with SPA3102, gateways, and dial plans, pls by
Jose
Hi All,
I've been able to configure my SPA 3102 in a way that if I press #2
(to select gateway 2, for instance) and dial the number, the call goes
through; however, if I dial the number directly I get an error message
saying the "number is not available.
My dial plan is as below
(*xx|xx.|x.:@gw2|00x.:@gw2|1x.:@gw0|#1:xx.:@gw1|#2:xx.:@gw2|#3:xx.:@gw3|#0:xx.:@gw0)

| | Recommendations for wireless VOIP phone. by
Brian Reay
I'm thinking of buying a VOIP phone I can use on my own WiFi system at home
on Skype.
The Skype phone seems the cheapest option but I'm not clear if I can "just"
use it on my WiFi without also having to "top it up" for the mobile option I
don't plan to use.
Anyone have any suggestions?
TIA

| | Betamax caller ID on SPA3102 gateway? by
Jose
Hi All,
I've had no trouble making my VoipCheap account display caller ID on
outgoing calls while using a PAP2.
Now that I'm using an SPA3102, and my VoipCheap account is on one of
the gateways, I can no longer make send my caller ID - apparently it
works only for Line 1 :-(
Has anyone solved this already?

| | How NOT to dial with Sipura's dial plan ? by
Marc Zirnheld
I have a SPA-3000 whose PSTN interface is connected to an analog PBX
extension, and the VOIP interface is SIP registered.
I'd like VOIP incoming calls to be answered and connected to the PBX
dialtone, so I managed to put something in the dialplan like :SO but
it doesn't work.
I solved the problem by automatically dialling some dummy digits that do
nothing harmless to the PBX, but the goal...

| | Restrictive practices in mobile broadband services? by
Harry Stottle
I was considering taking out a mobile broadband service and was looking
through the options. T-mobile are advertising their Web'n'Walk service
at £15.00/month for 3 GB, but when I dug through a couple of layers of
small print, I found the following
Quote We do not permit use of this service for internet phone
calls/Quote

So, I have four bits so far:

Besides keep adding ATAs with 2 Voip ports until covering everyone

Thanks,

Hi Flyer and everyone
Couple of long term problems I have with Draytel, do you experience the
same?
1, Call always disconnects if put on hold or answered by recorded message.
2. Call divert works very intermittently.
All other functions work fine.
