| | Asterisk now always recording voicemails by
Linker3000
I have just setup a 2.8 server and updated FreePBX to the latest beta as
recommended elsewhere. Everything works OK except that sometimes
voicemails aren't recorded properly - all the right things happen but
when I check the message it's empty. If I have the WAV files sent to
email, the 'blank' ones are always 118 bytes.
Known problem?
Thanks

| | Can I do anything actually useful with SPA-3000 config? by
Joe Harrison
I've read about half of the manual but it's just doing my head in. Got
Sipura SPA-3000 on Sipgate and NTL PSTN. Considering the amount of stuff in
the config options it looks initially as if it can anything you might ever
want and then some. However I think I'm SOL on the following but would be
grateful if anyone had any suggestions.
I would like to:
- selectively reject calls from certain...

| | SIP provider list - incoming Geo number, no monthly charge by
PhilT
Looking to list the SIP providers that do not charge a monthly fee and
offer a local geographical 01 / 02 number with wide coverage (ie not
just a London number). Prepared to put credit on to get Geo number but
not into recurring fees.

| | Sipdiscount Registration Problem by
info@brainsys.com
My Grandstream486 went offline from sipdiscount this morning. No
reboots, switching proxies etc could persuade it to re-register. Booted
up X-Mate and it registered no problem to same Sipdiscount account.
Oh my ATA has gone south I thought. So I reprogrammed my Grandstream286
which was happily talking to Sipgate and it couldn't register with
sipdiscount either. No changes my end to precipitate a...

| | Looking for SIP account by
Dave Saville
Very new here.
Looking at SIP account providers.
Sipgate seem to have a good offering but their rates are a bit high for where I
need to call most. The website says one can call a lot of other providers free.
SipDiscount has very good rates but they do not mention calling other SIP
providers - and you have to register before you can ask them anything :-(

| | SMS via Sipgate by
Paul Newman
Just some info for you. Since sipgate added their sms service (a few months
ago?) I had sent about 10 messages, only 1 had arrived, so I had given up
using it. A few days ago I complained to sipgate. They were very helpful,
and have sorted the problem. They said they have rerouted the sms's. It now
works fine. If you too had given up on it, you may find it works better now.

| | Fibre Optic or Wireless VoIP Installations by
Simon
Hi All,
Wonder if anybody has any advice regarding fibre optic or wireless IP
installations.
I am currently looking at data/voice/video requirements for a leisure
development. It broadly consists of 400 lodges (spread over some 40
acres, maximum distance between any two buildings would be no more than
1.5 miles) and I am looking to see whether it is possible to either
1) lay fibre optic to...

| | re-assigning a freetalk adapter? by
oakleydoakley
When my 1 year contract expires can I re-assign my freetalk adapter to use (for example voipstunt. etc) another provider? I have been VERY impressed with voipstunt sound quality 95% of the time. Freetalk is always just o.k.
In addition stunt is only 10 euros for 4 months of normal uk landlines and many other countries......getting this service working with my adapter would be fantastic!
Anyone...
