| | Freetalk HELP by
Jeni brown
Hi all
Just purchased on of these as I have got rid of the landline.
My setup is cable modem - freetalk adapter - PC.
No router involved.
The problem is I can't connect to the internet when it is plugged in. All
the lights are on but I can't ping my modem or the outside world. It doesn't
mention anything about configuring the NIC that it is connected to in the

| | Naive question about dialling codes on VOIP by
usenet@isbd.co.uk
I have a Zyxel 2602HW ADSL router and have set it up to use
sipdiscount to see how I get on with VOIP.
It works OK but I need to dial a full international code to make a
call to UK numbers. On thinking about this it does seem reasonable as
the VOIP server has no idea where you're from and could itself be
anywhere. However dialling all those digits could rapidly become a
bit of a drag, so:-

| | Voipfone dies every morning by
news
Every morning, between about 07:15 and 07:40, Voipfone stops responding
to registration requests from my Sipura 2100 ATA. I have conducted
continuous traces of registration and network activity, and the failure
is consistently repeating at around these times every day. There is no
problem at any other time.
I know that at least one other person is experiencing the same problem,
but Voipfone...

| | low cost international calling - advice?? by
IMPI
Anybody with some VOIP advice would be helpful. I am thinking about opening
up a low cost international calling company in an Afrcian country similar to
telediscount. What equipment will be needed? Anybody have some documents or
white papers on the subject? Your valuable input will be much appreciated
Thank-you

| | Short calls with voip.co.uk by
Tony Arnold
I've recently signed to use voip.co.uk as a bit of an experiment. I'm
using Ubuntu Linux and the Linphone package. I can call PSTN numbers but I
get cut off after about 100 seconds or so. Below is my configuration for
Linphone. Does this look right? It seems to work, but I had to play around
to get it to do so. Oh, I've replaced my id with nnnnnn and my password with ******
Regards,
Tony.

| | Dual Game connection + VoIP by
Lester
I have a cable modem, a switch, and the Blueyonder Dual Gaming option
which gives me a second IP address. That is wired to a part of the house
where I'd like to put a VoIP phone.
I've plugged a Grandstream Handytone 486 Analogue Telephone Adapter into
it, and so far I can't get it to run. I've had it successfully connected
for testing on the Blueyonder primary IP connection which goes to my...

| | SIPDiscount by
Ron Wellsted
Has anyone else noticed that SIPDiscount are not using https for their
credit card entry page when you sign in to buy credit?
I have asked them about this via the customer support form and will keep
you posted if/when I get a reply.
Strangely, other Finarea sites (1899.com, 18185.co.uk) do use https.

| | DabsValue VoIP 4-Port ADSL Router by
Lee
Has anyone used one of these?
Details:
http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?quicklinx=3LFS
I will using it with my voipfone account. Is there any reason why this
should be avoided - it seems cheap at £45? Well, cheaper than getting an
ADSL router and a decent ATA separately.
Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking of getting a pap2 ata. Googling around some of the forums, I
have read that there may some issues with the codec's and voipbuster not

Has anyone got voipbuster/cheap etc working on this ata and is there

Thanks

| | Cheap UK mobile? by
AKK
Hi, I see that we can get free calls to US landlines and mobiles even
from EU, but not to our own Europe mobiles. Lowest UK mobile charge I
saw was 5p/min and only on weekends. Cheapest weekday price is 10p/min.
Do you know any cheaper ppm or is there any regulations or just not
enough competition to make it as cheap as in US?
best regards,
Andrius
