| | Linksys pap2 lights continually flashing? by
Chris Lewis
I recently purchased a linksys pap2 voip adapter from ebay. The adapter
worked fine for a day but now there seems to be a problem. The power light
flashes red and the two line lights flash blue.
I cannot access the adapter through the http panel and there is no dial tone
through the phone line.
Any ideas please?

| | Setting up C475IP with Sipgate - help please by
tinnews@isbd.co.uk
I have received my Siemens C475IP phones today, impressed so far.
I have them working with my BT POTS line and with sipdiscount but I
can't get them set up with sipgate. I suspect it's just finger
trouble but could do with some help.
The fields that the VOIP set up on the C475IP wants a-

| | Caller ID Works to Landlines Only - Voipcheap.com by
Mike Sun
I had Caller ID presentation working just fine when dialling to both
land-line and mobile number but recently I find that my Caller ID only
presents itself when calling a land-line. Calling a mobile number presents
itself as a "private number". I am using voipcheap.com with registered
Caller IDs.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues and/or found a fix? Thanks -
Cheers from Mike

| | voipcheap incoming number by
Ian Pawson
I have an incoming number set for my voipcheap service, but it only
rings when using their windoze app and not when using sip. The sip says
that it is 'registered' and I can make calls ok.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get the incoming number to work
using sip, and if so, how?

| | Difficulty with echo and quality on PSTN calls with SPA3000 by
David Floyd
For over two years now I've been using an SPA3000 with voip.co.uk with
no problem.
I have not used BT during this time, but now that free calls are
available evening and week-ends with BT, whereas they are still 1ppm
with voip.co.uk I have set up the SPA so that I can make calls via BT
when I need to.
The trouble is I cannot get the quality right.

| | BT Business Hub - is the VOIP locked in to one service? by
tinnews@isbd.co.uk
I have recently installed ADSL on our business phone line and have the
BT provided "Business Hub" as the router, it's a 2Wire router.
I wasn't aiming to use the VOIP through this router as it's really
only a backup ADSL and our main ADSL connection is Enta and uses a
Speedtouch 716WL router.
However, I'm having problems getting the VOIP on the Speedtouch
working (see my other posting about...

| | Strange problem with S450IP and VOIP by
Dave Saville
I have a Siemens S450IP and it normally dials out on one of my VOIP
connections (Voiptalk.org). If my wife calls our doctor's, which has
some fancy pbx, after a few seconds of talking to the receptionist it
drops out to an engaged tone. This is very repeatable, and is somewhat
anoying. Today she was getting *really* cross so I said to force it
out over BT. She did this and of course it was...

| | A small question about the Siemens C475IP by
tinnews@isbd.co.uk
The C475IP (from the previous thread) seems to have so much going for
it that I think I'll be buying some.
One question that occurs to me, which might make it even *better*.
If I set the answerphone so that it works for only some of the numbers
then, presumably, I don't have the problem of answerphone activation
whether I like it or not on the other numbers. Is that correct? If
so it gives me...

| | VOIP used to work, now it doesn't, troubleshooting help wanted by
tinnews@isbd.co.uk
I set up a VOIP account a while ago (like months, even a year or so)
with sipdiscount.com, it worked fine and we used it for some calls.
It's been unused for a while though and when we tried to use it
yesterday it didn't work.
I've looked at all the obvious things that I can think of:-
My account at www.sipdiscount.com still works, I can log in and I
have some credit still.

| | PAP2T Settings? by
Chris Flash
I've a slight problem using Voipfone / VM 2M / PAP2T / BT DECT phones.
The volume of the voice of the person calling is very loud (almost deafening
if they speak up or LOL) also, they complain of hearing an echo when they
speak. There is no volume control for the handset, so is there a PAP2T
setting I could adjust?
TIA
Chris.

| | Recommendation for residential use by
BC
A work colleague wants to start using voip over her cable broadband and
eventualy cancel her BT line rental.
I use voip.co.uk myself but as they are not currently taking residential
customers we are looking for other recommendations. Sipgate is not an
option as she will need to be able to port her BT number over once the
account is up and running.
Thoughts and recommendations would be most...

| | Betamax directly from ATA on cable - IP considerations by
Brian A
I use Justvoip via Voxalot so Ithere is no problem with the IP staying
the same in order to qualify for the inclusive 'free minutes'.
I am about to set up an SPA-3102 for a relative who intends to retain
his cable telephone line as a back up and to use mostly for incoming
calls. It would seem logical that the minimum links in the voip chain
would yield the best reliability - i.e. to use justvoip...

| | Fritz!Box 7270 - ping Philippe by
Herman
Just looking at the Fritz 7270 which is available in Germany and a few other
(annex B) countries. I know it is annex B and therefore cannot be used for
DSL in UK, but just wondering if it is otherwise suitable for use in the UK.
It looks really good as it has inbuilt DECT and answerphone, fax
capabilities, and media server if you hang a hard drive on it. Oh and I
forgot VPN (not sure if...

| | Fritz Box on O2/Be by
RJ
I am waiting for my MAC from Pipex with the intention of transferring to O2
which has just become available on my exchange.
I currently use VOIP via a Fritz Box 7140, which works very well and prefer
not to use the O2 router provided (speedtouch 780wl with propriety O2
software) which I understand would not be suitable for us as we use more
than one VOIP provider.
