| | spa3000 incoming calls question by
Charlie
Hi,
I have been reading the threads & am thinking of getting an spa3000 but
have a couple of questions.
Currently I have an NTL phone/tv service, a bt line with 2M broadband
and a DECT cordless phone connected to the NTL line.
I want to get rid of NTL in stages.
From what I understand, I can use the spa3000 and can setup a dial plan
to make outgoing calls on either voip or ntl according to...

FYI Stefan Kaniuk has not had his ntl account terminated at all so
s-p-o-n-i-x is totally wrong. Yes NTL have advised him from what he was
telling me that he shouldnt post to usenet but you shouldn't listen to
trolls like s-p-o-n-i-x or Walt.B as they have no idea whats really
going on with Stefan at all.
Apparently he is barred from using usenet and that is a very good thing
in my opinion...

| | Skype, over and out? by
Rob
Whenever I try to make a Skype call I get the message "The Skype out service
is temporally unavailable" It used to say "please try later" that has now
been removed!
Could there be a problem of anon-technical nature, I wonder?
The quality is dreadful these days anyway, I am just trying to use up my
credit.

| | Asterisk more than one call by
viperdudeuk@gmail.com
Hi
I have setup a Asterisk box and am having great fun discovering what it
can do etc. One question I have is how do I get a SIP provider to
present multiple calls on the same PSTN number. For example caller 1
calls 01xxx xxxxxx and Asterisk answers the call, 10 seconds later
caller 2 also calls but this time the SIP provider answers the call
into voicemail because there is alreays caller 1 on...

| | PAP2 and Sipura 3000 and the * key by
Sparks
Is there a way to tell the PAP2 and the SPA-3000 to treat the * key like any
other key?
I have set some short dial codes like *001 to rout calls through a certain
providor on my asterisk box, I can dial this fine with me Budgetone 101, but
as dial *00 on the PAP2 and SPA-3000 I get a N/U signal!
Sparks...

| | Asterisk is very very slow... by
Matt
Hi,
When we receive an incoming call it takes asterisk upto 8 seconds to
decide where to route it. This applies to pstn and voip calls.
Fax detection is off.
Is there anything that can be done to improve this, otherwise I'll be
under pressure to dump asterisk....

| | IP Phones and sidetone by
Telephoneman
I recently bought a couple of cheap IP phones from ebay. They are made by
different (Chinese) manufacturers but apparently both use the PA1688
chipset. The issue is the have no sidetone, i.e. if you blow in the
mouthpiece you don't hear anything in the receiver. Is this common with IP
phones? POTS telephones have had sidetone for around a hundred years so it's
not like it's a new requirement for...

| | PAP2 - forwarding Line1 to Line2.. any success? by
Scope
Hi,
I have seen people say this is possible, forwaring LINE2 to LINE1,
internally on the PAP2, others say its not possible. Could somebody who
has managed to do this let me know, and any hints as to how to get this
working.
Lets assume this setup:
Line 1: voipbuster - for outgoing only, phone is connected to this port

{{{{{Welcome}}}}}
Is it possible to have two accounts on one line?
For example sipgate for incoming calls and then voipbuster for outgoing
calls - both on one line, without having to have one service on one line and
one on the other?

| | Bad echo on VoIP by
Rob
Hi everyone.
I've been experimenting with VoiP. Used it a lot when in away from
home etc. However, when I make calls via Voipbuster, or receive them
through Sipgate, the other party always tells me they here an echo. I
hear no echo on my laptop side, and am using closed headphones with a
boom mic.
The problem persists when using DSL in the UK, France and USA.
