Sparks
Okay, next feature I would like!
The company I work for has 4 offices.
Each office has a DDI range, where the extension number is three digits
(each office has a different leading number for the extension number)
For example
Office 1 1XX
Office 2 2XX
Office 3 3XX

| | Number portability by
Phil Thompson
As VoIP beds down and people get comfortable with the services etc
there will come a point where number portability becomes an issue that
restrains the growth of the market.
There was a flurry of activivity by OFCOM last year
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/telecoms/groups/nvs_index/
which seemed to be saying that if a provider offerred a PATS (Publicly
Available Telephone Service) then in a letter...

| | Disabling call transfer feature on VOIPFONE by
Tim Jenkins
Hi,
I've got a Cisco ATA 186 connected to Voipfone. A couple of numbers that I
dial, require the use of the * and # keys. However, whenever I press # I get
a voice prompt asking where I want to transfer the call to. Is there a way
to disable this so that I can use the # key in response to voice prompts
when I need to ?
Cheers,
Tim.

| | "All circuits are busy" on Vonage by
Richard Gaywood
Well, I've had my Vonage account for less than 24 hours and it's
already broken! I get an annoying American voice telling me "all
circuits are temporarily busy" whenever I try to call. It's been like
this since about 7pm.
Two exceptions: I've managed to call my (Orange) mobile phone, and I
can call my own BT landline.
Presumably, this means Vonage don't have enough links to the POTS to
cope...

Alan Foster
Hi all
Someone recently posted (Nick I think?) about aquiring an IP10S. He was
asking about power supplies, and I replied that I was about to get a
Solwise POE injector for mine yada yada...
Anyway, I thought I would offer an update of how things are going for the
benefit of Nick? and anyone else that has one of these phones.
The POE injector came, and works beautifully... it is a small...

| | Justdialvoip and Voipbuster with Snom 190 by
gumusluk
Has anyone managed to get justdialvoip or voipbuster working with a
Snom 190. They both register but don't allow any calls to be made.
Both accounts work fine on a Sipura and other accounts that I have
(Sipgate, Voipfone and Stanaphone) work well on the Snom.

What is the REN of a typical FXS port on an ATA? Are multiple FXS

The Sipura range (SPA-2000 etc. are typically REN 3 per port, as...

| | Which ATA to use by
Angus Comber
Hello
I am running an Asterisk, fairly recent version, connected to PSTN. I only
use IP Phones but now want to connect a fax machine to the *. Plus may want
to also connect the odd analog phone. People seem to rave about Sipura.
How are they better than Grandstream?
Basically, some pointers on which to use and why would be really helpful.

| | Vonage CLI by
Paul Westwell
Hi,
If I call my home BT phone from my Vonage phone I get the following CLI on
my BT phone 0441344xxxxxx
My dialling code in Bracknell is 01344 so this number in neither in correct
international or national format, therefore if you try and return a call to
that number from a BT line or mobile phone it fails.
Anyone else notice this?

bacillus cereus
Anyone have experience of how long it takes Virgin to issue unlocking
codes via email?
Prior to ordering my new SE K700i I was told by a nice lady in the Sales
team that the handset would more than likely be unlocked. You guessed
it, on arrival it was locked.
I phoned Customer Services and the guy said he would request the unlock
code(s) to be emailed to me, but they may take up to 30 days....

| | UK Dial plan by
Andrew Gabriel
Does anyone have UK dial plan strings which covers all the phone number
formats you might want to dial from a UK PSTN line? I'm programming
a Sipura-3000 VoIP phone, and I'm looking for a suitable dial plan
string. The phone uses something based on MEGACO and MGCP format
apparently. Here's a first stab at all the possibilities, but it's
sure to be incomplete and could do with further...

The SPA-3000 is noticably lower REN than my BT line. It struggles
to ring all the phones, whereas the BT line has no problem at all.
I am probably around a total REN of 4 though, maybe a little over.

| | PID&VID by

I've just installed a bluetooth adapter, but it says "no hardware detected"
when I insert it even after installing the software. They recommend adding a
PID&VID entry into the ini file for devices it cant automatically find.
Does anyone know what a PID&VID is and where do I might find it on a device?
Many thanks.

Hi all,
I can find reference from BT in SIN 350 as to what supervisory tones consist
of and their level range but no specific recommendation for levels.
Is there anything that specifies this?

I am trying to establish whether my son, who is setting up a (very) small
business, could possibly save some

reliable service with comparable voice quality and without getting bogged
down with technicalities. I am assuming that he will have a BT broadband
