| | Can you sign your own equpt with Vonage by
Joe Harrison
I already have router and SPA-3000 can I sign up with Vonage on a more
reasonable basis than if I take their package which seems to require their
own-brand Linksys locked-down router?

| | Linksys PAP2, any good? by
Shane Carpenter
Hi guys, been looking at getting a basic VOIP router for use on Telewest. Not sure if I'm going to go for sipgate/voiphone/gradwell yet but would like something that would work on all SIP services. The Linksys PAP2 seems pretty cheap, is it any good?
Ta, Shane.

| | Looking for analogue VoIP adapter with 4x FXS ports by
Peter
Can anyone recommend an analogue VoIP adapter, like the Sipura 2100,
but that will accommodate 4 analogue handset (FXS) connections and 1
of more Ethernet LAN connections. All to a single WAN connection to my
ADSL feed.

| | Zyxel and Sipura comparison by
news-text.blueyonder.co.uk
Hi,
I am choosing between either Zyxel or Sipura as a supplier of kit. I know
Sipura are rated quite highly
- however I was also interested in the router/Voip adaptor from Zyxel - does
anyone have one of these to comment on?
Cheers

There's been some discussion here about sending fax through VoIP
telephone adaptors. The consensus view seems to be that this can be
hit and miss, so pretty unreliable.
What I haven't seen discussed very much about INCOMING fax to a fax
machine attached to an ATA. Is the situation for incoming fax...

Phil Thompson
Is there a convenient retailer for the plugtop adapters that slip onto
the PSU of the Linksys PAP2 ??
the PSU brick has two studs for the mains input so an adapter is
needed even for the USA (unlike the more common type with a fold-out
USA plug and UK / Euro adapters)
Come to think of it I better read the voltage rating too.....

Davew
Hi,
I have a problem with 1899.com (VOIP). I defiently have the correct
settings as i have tried replacing the CID, user & secret with somebody
elses. It then works. If i change back it doesn't.
I am a new user to 1899.com - i have never used the PSTN access. Could
this be a factor?
Here's the logs:

| | Call18866 sip.co.uk ????? by
Derek
Ok, I know from past experience that there doesn't seem to be many people
using 18866 with VoIP in the group, but if you are a user of 18866
sip.call18866.co.uk, could you let me know if its working? I have an
account with them, but I now find that I can't use the damn thing as their
VoIP service is not working at all here these days..... It still works on a
normal BT line, but thats not...

| | VoIP service monthly charges? by
r_mervart
Looking on the Voipfone website, without registering, I found it difficult
to be sure whether there is or is not any monthly fee - if you make no
calls, or whether the service is in this respect free. Could someone briefly
summarise for me which of these VoIP service providers do not charge any
monthly fee?
Thanks

| | Setting Up Vonage, HELP!! by
Phil
I today received my Linksys RT31P2 router from Vonage.
I have my normal internet set up at the moment using a Belikn 4 port
router/modem. I have connected my Belikin modem/router to my router sent by
Vonage and have then connected it to my PC. I can see the Linksys Router by
typing in it's IP address and can get to the set up page but I can't
connects to the Internet. I have tried connecting...

| | Least Cost Routing by
Davew
Hi,
I am planing on implementing Least Cost Routing into Asterisk. I was
initially going to set up a database that can be queried. However, i
re-thought this and it seems it might be simpler to just have dial rules
which routes the correct number to the destination.
Voipbuster is probably the cheapest for most. The free destinations are
all that i will call, and for the time being - i am...

| | Vonage Features by
Paul Westwell
Hi all,
I have just signed up for a Vonage account and have not yet received the
phone adaptor.
What I was a little puzzled about is if I sign into my account and go to the
features tab not all the features I would expect to see are there!
As an example I was reading the help section on the "Bandwidth Saver" where
it tells you how to adjust it via the webpage, looking on my features tab it

Phil
I have been looking at signing up with Vonage on their £9.99/month deal.
What's the service like. Is it reliable and is the audio quality reasonable.
I have a Belkin 4 port router, how easy will it be to set up with their
adaptor? I know what I'm doing with my router as regards port forwarding but
have only ever had one PC connected to it so don't have any experience for
adding devices to...

| | Vonage Number Portability and peering agreements? by
Paul Westwell
Hi,
I spoke to Vonage today prior to signing up for an account and asked them
about number portability and SIP peering agreements.
Two different people during the day informed me that they were working on
introducing both number portability (bring your old number to Vonage) and
peering agreements with other SIP providers.
Has anyone else heard similar?

| | Vonage And Sky TV by
Phil
I have just signed up with Vonage and was just wondering do the interactive
features, call backs etc work from a Sky box through Vonage or would I be
better just bypassing Vonage and plugging the Sky box into the phone side of
my ADSL filter and routing Sky callbacks through BT and setting Vonage up as
normal with my phone?
