| | Weird ringiing effect with sipura and sipgate, any ideas? by
John N
I have for some time now had a sipgate account, and the majority of the time
it works reasonably well. I do have one problem though... When I call my
sipgate number, and then hang up after a couple of rings, the sipgate line
keeps on ringing for a long time afterwards, sometimes over two minutes?
Any ideas why this happens and if I can alter any config settings to stop it
happening? Its...

| | Using DECT phone with PSTN & SIP by
Paul Westwell
Hi all,
If I have an existing DECT cordless phone and want to be able to use this
for receiving incoming calls both from SIP services and PSTN, I am looking
for some form of "gaddit" that will switch the incoming call from either
service to the DECT phone. I also want to be able to make outgoing calls and
select either SIP or DECT on a call by call basis.
The box/application does not have...

| | POTS IP bridge by
Rupert
Is there anyway to bridge a POTS line over IP? By that I mean a way of
extending the line from A to B over an IP network?
Something like having an FXO ATA at one end and an FXS at the other, and
then configuring them to talk to one another?
Could do it with an asterisk, I suppose - but I was thinking of a more
solid-state, seamless solution. Almost like an IP extension lead - something
simple...

| | Using a different number ID for outgoing calls on 18866 voip? by
James Fisher
Just a little query from a friend actually. This is the problem:
Several months ago a friend of mine registered with 18866 to make savings on
calls, he has since signed up with sipgate and got himself a second number
to use on voip. He has a sipura1001 (I think), and he uses it for outgoing
calls to 18866 using the same account he signed up for several months ago
(using his BT line...

| | Speaker issue by
JPG
If you are not at your computer and it is not in your field of vision, and a
call comes in (assume you are using a softphone), you have to have the speakers
turned on with the volume up to know someone is ringing you.
You pick up the call and don the headset, your call is then a mess of feedback
until you turn the speaker volume down.
The obvious way to avoid this is to use a VOIPphone or ATA,...

Does anybody have any experience using their IAX termination service?
For mobile calls and 08xx numbers they are cheaper than sipgate and
since I run aterisk, using IAX would make more sense.
(although their international and gergraphic calls are more expensive).
Do they support IAX2?
How reliable is their service?
