| | Any Asterisk@home experts in? by
The Cable Guy
I've spent a number of days setting up the server - got it working just the
way I want it.
Then the blooming Hard Drive packed in.
My question - how do I copy the backup files of my working set-up to a new
installation of *@h ?

Has anyone else noticed that at the very bottom of the centre column on
http://www.call1899.co.uk/voip.php
the word 'feedback' is a link to
has anyone had a response to emails sent to this address.
I have already sent them my contribution,
For example I would love to know how they justify 1p/min for 0800 numbers at
the moment!

I'm more a lurker but couldn't leave this insightful analysis unpublished on

| | Current charging for 1899VoIP by
David Floyd
Several people have commented in various threads that the 1899VoIP
announcement is 1p per minute, but no-one, as yet, has confirmed that
their on-line bill is actually showing this as a charge.
Unfortunately I cannot check as my Grandstream box is playing up. (Or I
have the settings wrong today after using JustDial last night).
Can any-one confirm that 1p per minute is actually being charged...

| | Sipgate - change number. by
NOSPAM@all.invalid
Has anyone tried and been successful in changing current UK geographic
number to a new number using the option on the 'my account' page
https://secure.sipgate.co.uk/user/my_account.php
All I get offered is a new German number or an 0870 or an 0845 number.

| | Sipgate & Call Waiting ID by
Bacillus Cereus
Updated the firmware in my Grandstream ATA486 to version 1.0.5.23 and
selected UK type Caller ID in the new settings. Call Waiting ID now
works from Sipgate on my Panasonic 755 DECT phone!
I asked Telewest on a few occasions when they would introduce this
service, as I already subscribed to Call Waiting and Caller Display;
they didn't even know what Call Waiting ID was!

For those interested in Emergency services using VoIp, the tutorial at:

might be interesting?
It is US based, but the principles should be similar.

NOSPAM@all.invalid
I have a sipgate geographic number, 0114 xxx xxxx. It shows as my
number when i log into sipgate and I have set up my voice mail to
accept messages when the phone is offline, (I don't have an adapter
for a phone on my router just yet).
However when I dial the 0114 number I get nu tone.
Should dialing my 0114 number result in something other than nu?
Should I expect callers to be able to record...
