| | Calls to Spanish landline cuts out after 30 secs or so by
Lee
Hi
I have an account with Voipfone which generally works fine - at least, on
the few calls I have made so far. I have had no problems with calls to two
or three places in the US, two in Turkey and on in Germany - all land lines
and all for well over 30 minutes - however calls to two different numbers in
Spain consistently drop after about a minute or two - sometimes after only a
few...

Martin Foster
Greetings All!
I'm very new to all this VOIP stuff so please excuse the "dumb" questions
:-)
All I'm interested in at the moment is using VOIP to call UK landline
numbers.
I'm running Windows 98SE, I have an on-board AC97 sound card and a
Plantronics headset.

Hi,
Is anyone using an ATA or IP phone under AOL Broadband? will it work, I have
memories that AOL connections did not use static or dynamic public IP
addresses for uses? Is this still correct or am I talking BS?

| | Asterisk AMP & Incoming calls by
Peter Watson
I've setup Asterisk on a Linux box that is running pptp (via eth0) to my
Speedtouch router. As a result the * box is 'visible' on a proper WAN
IP. My IP phones are on a 10.0.0.x network, connected to eth0.
I've setup two trunks - Call1899 (via iax) and Sipgate (via sip) and can
make outgoing calls via either route.
I'm using AMP to set all this up, but I can't get incoming calls (via...

Thus spaketh :
"In order to save capacity for our 1899 client software users, we will
discontinue supporting other SIP/IAX devices on our network as from
20.05.2005 Please switch over to the 1899 client software before this

Any alternatives that are either very cheap or very free??

| | Source for Spanish incoming number? by
Lee
Hi
I have just signed up for Voipfone here in the UK and would like to see if I
can rig up a Spanish incoming number. My mother lives in Spain and runs up
some pretty hefty phone bills.
Can anyone here recommend the best way of doing this? I am happy to set up a
second SIP account with a Spanish provider if necessary but would not know
who to choose.

| | incoming IAX2 to 18866 softphone client ? by
Phil Thompson
I'm fiddling with IAX2 as a learning experience. I can make calls to
the PSTN with 18866.
Is it possible to receive calls from other IAX2 users ? if so what is
my "number" is it the number I
see it registers with the server ?
Can two clients be registered at the same time with the same "number"
or is it like IP addresses they have to be unique (I read...
