another newbie question from another newbie.... by Lee
My family live in the UK and we have relatives posted in Turkey, the Phillipines, and USA. We all currently use Skype and everyone LOVES it - especially the conference calling. Some of us have purchased SkypeIn numbers to allow relatives to make local calls that come through to us on Skype. We have a DECT phone plugged into a USB adaptor on the PC and we take our Skype calls anywhere in the...

SPA3000 and CLI query by David Floyd
All the publicity that I've seen for the 3000 says it only recognizes Bellcore Type 1 CLI. Most Sipura paperwork including the big manual has a copyright date of 2004 so I wonder if there has been an update to the 3000 that allows it to recognize other Caller ID and in particular the UK BT type. Does any-one know please? Many thanks.

Asterisk setup for Sipgate and Call1899 by Peter Watson
Having looked at a variety of ATAs and coming up with a device that quite does what I want, I've decided to have a go at setting up Asterisk to: 1. Use an IP phone (IP2006) to make outgoing calls via Call1899 2. Use the IP phone to receive calls via a geographic number provided by Sipgate Future requirements:

Improving X-Lite sound quality by Ian
"Al" wrote in message ... My broadband uplink speed is only 64kb. I presume this is the main reason for the fact that people I call using X-Lite softphone tell me they have problems hearing me (even though I can hear them crystal clear). Anonymous Callers by Dave Gill
On my Telewest line I have anonymous caller rejection activated, in the hope of keeping the telesales away. It doesn't work very well nowadays since a lot of telesales calls show "unavailable" (or even "payphone") instead of "withheld". My Sipura SPA-1001 appears to have a similar function (Block ANC) but I can't get it to work. But even if it did work I'm sure that with VoIP a better solution...

Sipgate can call mobiles, non-geographic numbers but not landlines... by George
I have a Sipgate account, on their 1000 minute plan. This morning, I tried it, and couldn't call my friend on his land-line - "An error has occured - please try again". I tried calling my own mobile - no problems. Then I called an 0800 number - no problems. So I tried my friend again - can't get through, same error message. So, I try several other land-line numbers, and they all give me the...

Help with Sipgate / Draytek 2600V / Sipura SPA 2000 by Mike @ www.zd8i.net
I need some help with a setup using Sipgate, a Draytek 2600V and a Sipura SPA 2000 please. Apart from Sipgate being a bum choice, I'm struggling with one-way audio with the above set up. I have three Sipgate numbers, one has a fax machine on it and is the only FXS port used on the Draytek 2600v. This works OK using SIP port 5062 (when Sipgate is working !) and the 2nd Draytek FXS port is...
