| | Sipgate external gateway down - again by
Thomas Sandford
Sipgate once again (as of 21:05 on 13th May) seems to be dead to the outside
world. Internal (sipgate to sipgate) calls still work, but nothing in from or
out to the wider PSTN.
Guys - you _really_ need to get a grip on this - it's just not good enough
for a service that's being sold to the general public - people need a phone
service they can rely on. And you'll find the statement "No Refund!...

wooosh
For those interested in the NETGEAR TA612V presently being offered by
Sipgate...............
Mine arrived today and took about one hour to get going. This device is not
recommended for use behind a router but it can be done.
I have a DG834G router. I set the 612v with a WAN address in the range of
the 834G and pointed all the relevant ports to this IP.
Firstly I was confused to see there...

I've googled for this, but I haven't found exactly what I want to
know, so I apologise if it is out there.
I am using snom's softphone together with 1899 VOIP, and I have found
it does pretty well everything that I want. In particular I like to be
able to choose which of my registered numbers to send as the outgoing
CLI (i.e. home line, business line or mobile, depending where I would

| | 1899 Setting Up With VOIP Phone by
Phil
Sorry I am a novice when it comes to VOIP. I have set up 1899 with the
client downloaded from thier website and it works great. I was wondering if
there is a VOIP phone I could plug into my router/phone line to make calls
via 1899 and recieve call normaly via BT, is there such a device. I would
like the phone to be cordless if possible.

My broadband uplink speed is only 64kb. I presume this is the main
reason for the fact that people I call using X-Lite softphone tell me
they have problems hearing me (even though I can hear them crystal
clear). Is it worth my playing with the codecs to try to improve the
situation and is there...

I have received instructions from Grandstream on how to upgrade the
ATA486 which I bought from Sipgate and I wonder if some-one can help me
understand how to do the upgrade.
I don't want to appear too much of a nurd or Luddite to Grandstream so
I'm hoping some-one can help me here.
Grandstream have sent me the update files for version 1.0.5.23 which
they instruct me to put in the root...

Any opinions on the Sipura SPA3000 or Grandstream Handytone ATA-488?
Ease of use etc.
Hi,
I like the SIPURA 3000, but I cannot say that it is easy to use, but for
sure you have a lot of option.

hi all, what's the cheapst VoIP provider for calling EU, USA, and CHina
with a monthly flat rate?
The question is probably best taken to uk.telecom.voip.
You could look at BroadVoice (either Unlimited World or Unlimited World
Plus depending on which countries you need).
