| | SPA3102 PSTN Audio quality by
Jono
I'm using an SPA3102 in conjunction with a GSM premicell. When dialling
out over the mobile network, although I can hear the caller perfectly
well, they experience clipping of the audio at their end.
If a POTS phone is plugged into the premicell, no clipping occurs. If
the SPA is powered off, no clipping occurs.
I have tweaked & tweaked.
Has anyone got any specific "must have" settings for...

| | How does it know its VOIP - or does it by
Dave Saville
If I dial the PSTN number assigned to a VOIP phone from another VOIP
phone does it know it is IP to IP or would it treat it as a land line
call? Or do you need to set up the call differently?

| | Porting a landline number to a VoIP provider - with a twist! by
Linker3000
Hi,
I have tons of landlines managed by Company 'A', who have 'taken them
over' from BT and do Carrier Preselect etc. for us.
I want to port one number to a VoIP provider - Company 'B'.
B has sent me a form to authorise the porting - the form requires the BT
account number for the line - which it doesn't have as far as *we* are
concerned.

| | Is this equipment OK for Vonage use? by
Jim H
Excuse my ignorance of things broadband. I have signed up for Vonage
voip service, and wondered if someone could advise what additional
hardware I need...
My broadband connection is provided by Namesco. They sent me a ZyXEL
660-RC ADSL Single port ethernet router, plus 2 ADSL microfilters.
The router has one telephone cable socket and one ethernet cable
socket.

| | Voip ports and things by
Pete @ www.GymRatZ.co.uk
Hi All,
I have Draytek vg2910 dual WAN router with 2 ADSL accounts active.
I would like to force all VOIP traffic over the "backup" ADSL service
and everything else over the primary service.
The router allows for port or ports and Protocol(TCP, UDP, TCP/UDP,
ICMP, IGMP) to be forced to either WAN1 or WAN2.
Can anyone tell me which ports/protocols I would need to force Accounts
to register...

Zen are now offering residential VOIP, if it's anything like their broadband

| | Business VoIP by
Steven
Hello all,
We will be changing offices over the next month or two. Our current
phone gear is leased from the owners and won't be coming with us. It's
ISDN using Avaya kit; we use 10 lines on there.
We were thinking about a move to VoIP. Is this feasible for a business
with a measily 10 lines or so, or is the business world not quite ready
for that? I accept there'd be a risk of broadband...

| | Call Froward On A SPA 3102 by
Mr Muffin Top
Ok I have read it but don't understand how to do it!
I want to be able to dial my SPA 3102 and after it starts to ring for me to
be able to press a key combination on the phone I am using to make it dial
back out so I can call an international number that I enter on the phone I
am using to ring in.
If that makes sense!

| | Sipgate phone rings randomly by
Paul Clarke
The handset serving by my Sipgate line rings a couple of times now and
again - but there's no actual incoming call it seems, as nothing is recorded
under 'missed calls' on the website (the phone hasn't got caller display
unfortunately). What might be the reason for this random ringing? Using
Linksys ATA.

| | Orange Livebox - SIP address..? by
Ivor Jones
Anyone know if it's possible to access a phone plugged into an Orange
Livebox by SIP address..? Assuming it uses SIP of course, or is it one of
those proprietorial things like Skype..?
A friend has just got one of these things and it comes with an 0845 number
(spit) so would prefer to avoid charges for said number if at all
possible..!

Maxime
Hi,
I'm currently looking for a Virtual PBX provider.
We are a small company with 6 staff and would require incoming numbers

At the moment we have shortlisted 3 companies: Gradwell, Coms.net and
